Basically CE is able to hold as many games as they do because the vast majority of them are held in California, where there are thousands of airsofters across the state. It costs them nothing more than the cost of admission to attend, so it's no big deal. The problems don't bother you nearly as much if your investment, in both time and money, wasn't that high.
There are no CE events that I would ever recommend to you. I know the frustration of wanting to hit a good out of state event and seeing nothing but CE stuff advertised. Don't waste your money. There is no, and I do mean ZERO, interest given to the fact that you have traveled from so far away. The schedule is ignored. You get little playing time, and the Sunday activities drag on and on and on, ignoring the fact that you have a seven or eight hour drive home ahead of you. Several attempts to get this on track were made by us, but nothing at all was done. You will not enjoy yourselves at a CE event, even though it's some of the "catchiest" advertising being done these days.
If you can find an event hosted by Best of USA Marketing (www.bestofusamkt.com) or by Joe (Jetlegend), those would be the better bets. I know their games were the best that I have attended.
There are a couple of other possible games in the works that might be worth attending and as they are fleshed out more details will be posted on these forums.

Hang in there, fellas! Good games are fewand far between, but worth waiting for.

Thanks guys, I haven't met you yet, but based on your organization and intelligent layout of your site, club and events, I would trust your judgement on this. Like I said, it would be better to go with you guys so we can have a good time and represent AA in a professional way. I think it's great that you guys look out for your people so well. We appreciate that. SWAIRTAC and Team Fatal Exception will give full support to a AA sponsored OP. Maybe we can get some big games going if we get involved. I think we may hold off on going to the big ops until something good that we can all attend comes along. If we don't go to CDII, then we will have the funds to attend both the July and August AA games instead(as we have to rent a vehicle for the drive)! Thanks!
That's no exscuse for Combat Enterprises. If that was their first "big game" then it MAY enter into it, but they have done a LOT of big games before Op:CD. He's just a poor organizer, leader and host. I wouldn't go to Op:CD2 even if it were free - but that's just me.

I myself wouldn't mind going and giving Dave a chance to see if things have improved. I havn't been to a CE Op since Op: CD so I can't really make a full judgement on them yet myself. He already did make one improvement as it is, CD2 isn't being held in Burbank. [;)]

Reaver, as far as I know, CD2 is at the same spot as CD1. That SOS Filmworks ranch that we played at last year. At least, thats what the site says. I think Dave switched around a lot of stuff for CD2, originally it was something revolving around the US Boarder Patrol vs. Mexican interlopers. Now its something about Nato vs. Iraqi Communists(?!)

I wonder if this one will be 100% convoy missions as well?

Raith is correct. CDII was suppossed to be USBP vs "Banditos", which was ridiculous in itself, but the location was to be San Diego. When registration opened up, everything was different. We weren't all that impressed with the site. The reason our team wanted to go was for the number of players and for the vehicles(which would be cool). Now we're not so sure- Reaver sorry about the bad intel... OK everyone, why don't we plan an overnight game in August with a cookout and it will be free to AA members! It will be warm so we could meet on Saturday, set up and play in the afternoon; then camp out and play a night mission and a morning mission the next day while it's cool. Feedback on this please - SWAIRTAC will provide the food and we can collaborate to organize the OP. Maybe SASCO? Open to anything -

PS - Well after going to the website Paco posted, Best of USA Marketing, I am completely enlightened on the finer OPs, I wasn't sure who put on Lion Claws, now I know.

Awww, damn, you're right, it is going to be in Burbank. Never mind. Op CD2 is out as far as I'm concerned. If it had been in San Diego as originally planned I would have still been interested in going. Ah well, perhaps a weekend Op here in Az would be a good idea. [:)]

It is unfortuante that most of the games are CE games, but that's also one of th ebiggest problems with CE. With a big game every month, or every other month, nobody cares if you, the lone individual, has a good time or not. It's business and it's all about numbers. As a side note, when we have gone to big games in the past, we go as "Arizona" and not really AA, US Airsoft, or any of the other groups. Just "the boys from AZ." It brings us all under one umbrella and makes for a great experience.
For those of you who have looked at Lu's website (Best of USA Mkt) you can see CLEARLY the difference between someone who cares about the palyers and someone who only cares about the fast buck. It's reflected in the games, too.

I would DEFINATLY be up for that! As long as people under 18 could come.....if we can plan it where its not boiling hot outside (yeah i know, its AZ!) Well, I dont know if my dad would be up for it, but hes pretty cool. Where would we do it at? SASCO? Maybe just get a hotel in tuscon or something? or overnight like night games AND day games? I would have to get my GBB By then for sure!

I'm going to see if I can work out something with Fort Huachuca. They have some excellent open field areas (I've done manuevers on them) and the temperature in the hills is decent until October.

We should still look to arrange something and have some ideas. I'd still love to do a weekend Op in August.

The location is flexible. If Paco wants to have it up North, that would be fine. Ft. Huachuca would be great, Reaver! Maybe SASCO because of the layout of the area. By overnight I mean come out Saturday, then set up camp and we could play in the afternoon, have a cookout, then play an evening game and a couple night missions. Then the next day, a morning game while it's cool. It all depends on what everyone thinks. Looking for feedback...

dont know where Ft. Huachuca is, but id love to go! I could bring some airsoft friends depending on when it is! SASCO is pretty big, but has rattle snakes. If Ft. Huachuca is not that far, meaning under 150 miles, then ill be able to go!

Hav - Look it up on a map. It's huge. It's down South near Sierra Vista. It's quite a trip for most, but it's an Army base, which could be interesting if allowed.
