Well the AK is a 7.62 round and if it says that it can hold the G3 mag which is a .308 round if im not mistaken it should hold it only difference would be the length of the mag.  It might stick out a bit.  As for the AK beta mags it should be fine but im not the expert, Firehead or the other AK lovers out there should know for sure.

The G3 and AK magazines are TOTALLY different sizes.  The overall width is different cause the rounds are different lengths, and the capacity is different so the overall length is different as well.  I would look into purchasing a pouch (there are ALOT out there) that specificly says it will handle AK mags. Well, i would stay away from anything that holds says its made for M16/M4 mags. I have a few US Issue Mag pouches, and they can only hold 1 AK Magazine. it will hold 2 of the spetznatz 250 round hicaps(due to the width of mags). I use a tac-force urban assault vest(similar to that of Blackhawk) so i carry 6 AK magazines(which leaves you 4 extra at the staging area).

This is kinda off topic, but if you want to use 30 round AK mags, make sure you get a tightbore and stay on semi(full in crap situations).
BTW: The Star AK mags are well worth the 60 bucks. I love mine.

I've looked for Spetsnaz tightbores and haven't been able to find any, and I even had a thread going on the topic a while back, but not with many results.  Do you know where I can find a Spets tightbore?

don't listen to busta, you might end up wasting money if you FUBAR the barrel. Its an MP5 barrel. You need a 229mm tightbore, which is for MP5s/Spetznaz. You could get something a bit longer tho, becuase the spetz flashider covers the entire barrel, and leaves enough room for another inch. You can find them at a JT store. They are $35 i believe.

ArniesAirsoft does alot of info posting about the website russiancombatgear.com or what ever the site is called.  They sell alot of gear ment to hold AK mags as well as 5.56 nato round mags.  If you surf your way over to Arnies you will see they have a link somewhere to check them out.  but i think its www.russiancombatgear.com  and arnies is www.arniesairsoft.co.uk

I haven't used any magazine holders yet, but I'm planning on buying the AK STAR magazine 10-pack that was talked about/reviewed here last week.  Does anyone know if a magazine holder that says it fits "M16 style magazines as well as Aug, G3, Sig, Famas, etc..." will hold AK mags?  How about the smaller Spetsnaz mags?
