We definitely are doing the right thing by staying there. If we had put a puppet in and took off, another vicious dictator would have taken over.

Anyway, back on topic. It is great that we have caught another aid, we just need to catch the guy himself.

Who is "WE"?  The only one's getting killed over there are US soldiers who volunteered for the duty or US civilian contractorss who volunteer as well.

No one is making you fight, so understand that those who are over there want to be there.  There are exceptions (pussies are everywhere, even in the military sometimes), but for the most part every young private who enlisted to fight did so keeping in mind that in this post-9/11 world, the odds of going to war are very high.

I appreciate your concern (and hopefully your support) for our troops, but keep this in mind next time you say to leave those countries.

Regardless of what you read in the newspaper or see on TV, the Armed Forces and the Commander in Chief have the balls to fight for anything.  Too bad that not all Americans do, too.

Like the saying goes - "Pulling out is not always the best means of control!"  So it goes for sex and war!

Well, as soon as we leave, the place will collapse into mayhem.
If democracy is to exist there, we will NEVER be able to leave.
So that means we are getting killed for nothing, as nothing will be accomplished.
I personally feel your basic Iraqi is too stupid to understand what freedom, and independace means.

Let me make myself clear. I believe going into Iraq and removing Saddam WAS the thing to do, based on the info we had at the time.

I support OUR troops 100%. I must beg to differ on everyone that is there volunteered and wanted to go.
There are far too many Reservists, who basically joined for an education (and boy they are getting a hell of an education over there)
Many of these reservists have families, and probably are not really happy about being there.

As I said, I support the troops 100%, that is why I now believe it is time to remove them from Iraq and Afghanastan-Out of harms way, and let the poeple in these countries shit for themselves. It certainly appears they dont want us there, and after watching many a beheading, or an IED blowing a humvee to bits, while those doing the beheadings or detonating the IED are chanting Allah Akbar in a rather braindead manner. Well it mkaes me feel that trying to help these people is a total waste.

Pull our troops out, and cut off any and all aid. If they give us any shit-let the Air Force bomb them into the stone age.

I personally wish the Commander in Cheif had the balls to stop the destruction of the Social Security system, Stop the flow of illegal aliens across the border, search all the containers coming into the USA, and stop sening BILLIONS of Dollars to IRAQ!

There are far too many homeless people, people who need health care, people who live in ran down houses, un-educated people, and folks who live from month to month right here in the USA.

Fix our Country up first, then help the other countries out-IF they want help that is.

As Ex-USAF--I alway have believed it far better to bomb strange people to bits from the air than it is to personally turn them into a canoehead.

Well, that "who is we" is about to change in short order and REAL SOON unless recruitment rates start rising (which we all know isn't going to happen).

Your description of those who do not believe in this war effort as being "pussies" is ignorant and unfounded.

I'd rather they had the balls and INTELLIGENCE to fight for the RIGHT things rather than fighting simply because they think they have balls.

1.  I never said those who do not believe in the war are pussies. I was referring to those who join up and later are too scared to go to war.

2.  Not fighting at all is better than fighting for something you do not beleive in.

3.  The way I see it is if one is not prepared to go to war, then do not join the military.  Some think that they can get away with skipping out on deployment by choosing a non-combat MOS.

4.  I cannot imagine trying to stay home while my brothers and sisters in my unit were off getting shot at.  People that attempt to do so are cowards.  Maybe I'm closer to the guys and gals in my unit than others are, but I would never wave goodbye to them on their way to combat and not want to go with them.

I think I understand what you're saying now.  They aren't pussies, they're cowards?  Standing up for what you believe in and refusing to participate at the risk of a long prison sentence is hardly what I would regard as "cowardly".  But hey, whatever floats your boat, pal.
