I'm not going to try to sum the entire following article up, you really should go read it for yourselves but basically a group of kids disrespect an elderly bus monitor in the harshest of ways. I thought I would post this too see some responses and to make others aware that a donation fund is happening currently for this woman.

This kind of stuff makes me want to puke. I saw another story a while back where a Marine just got back from Afghanistan and went out to the movies to spend time with his wife when a group of kids jumped his wife for whatever reason. Wtf? I always feel like there is another part of the story missing because it is so ridiculous, but there just isn't.

I don't see how kids are turning out like this. Most likely all the propaganda and crap from music and etc, that is my guess because I am in the age group where they almost always act like this. Just makes me sick. At least there are still some kids who have respect for their elders. But I couldn't even finish watching the video. I am scared to see what the next generation will be like...

It's not the music or media completely, it's also irresponsible parents raising these little brats. Even though I'm 19, I still expect some respect from those who are younger (my sisters do, but that's because they're my little sisters, gotta protect them you know) anyway, in my peoples culture (Mexican) as soon as you are 18 and are a responsible person, you should expect respect from the younger ones, otherwise you have permission to smack the taste out of their mouth if they do anything that is close to what these little brats did in the video

Kids today for the most part first have no respect for themselves, second no respect for each other, and lastly no respect for any one else, it is the you owe me generation upcoming, we have gone too far with political correctness, and left common sense in the dust...There are any number of kids in AS that are pretty kool kids and there are a few that make it bad for the rest... Is it the parents fault, yes some of it is however I believe today society has much to do with it...

I wish I was on this bus when this happened. It's probably illegal for her to slap the hell out of these kids, but I would do it for her. I hate my generation... I really do... There are some good kids still left, but only a few. It's really really bad, and worse in the schools. I can tell you first hand, that this happens all the time.

New high school principal
We watched high school principal Dennis Prager of Colorado , along with Sara Palin and Tom Brokaw on TV a couple of weeks ago....what a dynamic, down to earth speaker. Even though Palin and Brokaw were also guest speakers they did little but nod and agree with him. This is the guy that should be running for President in 2012!

To the students and faculty of our high school:
I am your new principal, and honored to be so. There is no greater calling than to teach young people.
I would like to apprise you of some important changes coming to our school. I am making these changes because I am convinced that most of the ideas that have dominated public education in America have worked against you, against your teachers and against our country.
First, this school will no longer honor race or ethnicity. I could not care less if your racial makeup is black, brown, red, yellow or white. I could not care less if your origins are African, Latin American, Asian or European, or if your ancestors arrived here on the Mayflower or on slave ships.. The only identity I care about, the only one this school will recognize, is your individual identity -- your character, your scholarship, your humanity. And the only national identity this school will care about is American.
This is an American public school, and American public schools were created to make better Americans. If you wish to affirm an ethnic, racial or religious identity through school, you will have to go elsewhere. We will end all ethnicity, race and non-American nationality-based celebrations. They undermine the motto of America , one of its three central values -- e pluribus Unum, "from many, one." And this school will be guided by America 's values. This includes all after-school clubs. I will not authorize clubs that divide students based on any identities. This includes race, language, religion, sexual orientation or whatever else may become in vogue in a society divided by political correctness.
Your clubs will be based on interests and passions, not blood, ethnic, racial or other physically defined ties. Those clubs just cultivate narcissism -- an unhealthy preoccupation with the self -- while the purpose of education is to get you to think beyond yourself. So we will have clubs that transport you to the wonders and glories of art, music, astronomy, languages you do not already speak, carpentry and more. If the only extracurricular activities you can imagine being interested in are those based on ethnic, racial or sexual identity, that means that little outside of yourself really interests you.
Second , I am uninterested in whether English is your native language. My only interest in terms of language is that you leave this school speaking and writing English as fluently as possible. The English language has united America 's citizens for over 200 years, and it will unite us at this school. It is one of the indispensable reasons this country of immigrants has always come to be one country. And if you leave this school without excellent English language skills, I would be remiss in my duty to ensure that you will be prepared to successfully compete in the American job market. We will learn other languages here -- it is deplorable that most Americans only speak English --but if you want classes taught in your native language rather than in English, this is not your school.
Third, because I regard learning as a sacred endeavor, everything in this school will reflect learning's elevated status. This means, among other things, that you and your teachers will dress accordingly. Many people in our society dress more formally for Hollywood events than for church or school. These people have their priorities backward. Therefore, there will be a formal dress code at this school.
Fourth, no obscene language will be tolerated anywhere on this school's property -- whether in class, in the hallways or at athletic events. If you can't speak without using the f-word, you can't speak. By obscene language I mean the words banned by the Federal Communications Commission, plus epithets such as "Nigger," even when used by one black student to address another black, or "bitch," even when addressed by a girl to a girlfriend. It is my intent that by the time you leave this school, you will be among the few your age to instinctively distinguish between the elevated and the degraded, the holy and the obscene.
Fifth, we will end all self-esteem programs. In this school, self-esteem will be attained in only one way -- the way people attained it until decided otherwise a generation ago -- by earning it. One immediate consequence is that there will be one valedictorian, not eight.
Sixth, and last, I am reorienting the school toward academics and away from politics and propaganda. No more time will be devoted to scaring you about smoking and caffeine, or terrifying you about sexual harassment or global warming. No more semesters will be devoted to condom wearing and teaching you to regard sexual relations as only or primarily a health issue... There will be no more attempts to convince you that you are a victim because you are not white, or not male, or not heterosexual or not Christian. We will have failed if any one of you graduates this school and does not consider him or herself inordinately fortunate -- to be alive and to be an American.
Now, please stand and join me in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of our country. As many of you do not know the words, your teachers will hand them out to you.

That is one hell of a speech. I am sixteen and take pride in saying that I am among those in my generation who will get up out of his seat on the lightrail and help an elderly woman into it. We as a generation are failing to realize that those who are older than us have more knowledge then we know about. There are too many in my generation who think they know everything and are king of the world. And then there are those who just follow the crowd and are afraid to stand up and speak what they believe.

You cannot out a blame on "parents of brats" or the disintegration of morals in society or the generation of youth today.
The difference is the communication of stories like this these days. There were awful things that happened in the 40's, 50's 60's etc.
The difference, it wasn't posted on Youtube. The issue I see with youth today, this is speaking as a father of two, is "kids" these days have become the pay me now mentality and instant gratification and instant results are expected. This bleeds over to people believing they deserve things just by conjuring the idea of something. Morals are actually better these days in my opinion. However the over abuse of political correctness and non competitive nature has done a lot of damage. Society as a whole has been damaged. Young people expect the easy path in life and in fact the believe they deserve it. This drives laziness, U NO WAT I M SAYN? Ease forsaken for intelligence. The daily habits become the norm. This becomes a lifestyle. Better yet, business markets it to you. They may not be moral, but they're not stupid.
Here's a quote that I see examples of everyday and I work and attend the largest attending university in the United States,

You may or may not know the author but unfortunately he speaks of examples I see every single day.
Now I also see a generation that respects veterans unseen since post WWII and there are some really great examples of young citizens I personally know. However I tend to see more of negative.

This is actually a big part of it, IMHO. "Local boy bullies other local boy, second local boy points and laughs" is more likely to make the 6 o'clock news than "Famine in Yemen kills thousands".
The other big problem is our gratification system. This whole "everyone's a winner" and "it's okay, you tried, that's good enough" mindset needs to stop right goddamn now. In order for someone to win, there has to be a loser, and usually trying isn't good enough. Maybe you tried hard, but you still failed. Sorry buddy, better luck next time. If there is one. Hope you weren't "trying" to outrun a lion.

With the exception of the military and the few people who are against the way society is turning out, the country can go fuck itself. We stand for nothing anymore. And seriously, those kids were fucking 12 years old or something! It seems that society has been caught in a loop of exponentially increasing stupidity caused by a lack of motivation and desensitization to what is right and what is wrong.
I realize that I have slowly become more prone to this type of... culture... over the years, but it is nowhere near the amount of sheer disrespect and indecency that these kids have. If I was on that bus, I guarantee you there would be no holding back what I would do to those kids.

I agree with alot of the younger guys who posted here saying that they hate our generation. I hate it for so many reasons I could write for hours on the subject. The true disgrace of our generation though isn't that they don't care, its that they don't care that they don't care. Its laziness, hypocrisy, and stupidity on the highest of levels. I hate that I am rolled in with these fucking excuses for human beings, I know that like alot of the younger guys who posted in this thread already, that I am an exception. I was raised "old fashioned", I had my mouth washed out with soap, I had my ass spanked, and above all else I was taught to have to some respect for people who deserve it. Elders, Superiors, men of Virtue and Intelligence.

The true disgrace of our generation though isn't that they don't care, its that they don't care that they don't care. Its laziness, hypocrisy, and stupidity on the highest of levels. I hate that I am rolled in with these fucking excuses for human beings, I know that like alot of the younger guys who posted in this thread already, that I am an exception. I was raised "old fashioned", I had my mouth washed out with soap, I had my ass spanked, and above all else I was taught to have to some respect for people who deserve it. I find it abhorrent that they have not made arrangements to apologize to her in person...
They did this without any thought, just to bully someone, group mentality, and I am surprised that no one else on the bus attempted to stop it, guess I will just paint the whole group of kids/teenagers on that bus with the same brush,YELLOW...
