Boondock and I drove out together and had to make a last minute stop in Scottsdale. We didn't get out to fountain hills until 7:00AM, so we drove to BT to meet up with everyone. Not only was BT packed and our normal field was taken, but we couldn't find anyone from the game. I know that we sometimes have people meet up late, but I was concerned since we had so little people. once 9:00AM rolled around, we figured that the game was either cancelled or the game was going on at a different area of BT. I will be posting an idea that I have to resolve this issue and possibly to help insure that people are actually going to come.

I was actually packed up and ready to head out this morning but my wife (who is 7 mos. pregnant) was not feeling well during the night. So I took her to the doctor this morning and, thankfully, she's doing better with medication. Unfortunately, I had to miss today's game.

Apologies to all, especially Joey, who drove in from Prescott. A sick pregnant wife is as close to an apocolytic event as I'd want to come, otherwise I'd have made today's game.

Yeah it was a real bummer to say the least. Really sorry for Joey, but you see why we did not all want to drive up there, Sorry.

As for future BT games, I will PM my Cell # to people. Be advised it does not work in parts of the drive to BT. So If I don't answer wait a few minutes and call back.

Sorry to hear about your wife dkjee. I hope she is feeling better and congratulations! This is a perfect example of the real reasons why someone might not attend at the last minute. Um..Wife or airsoft, ID pick the WIFE! lol

Kopper how many were up there? Screwloose has a good idea of using the cell to call if your going to be late or unfortunately cant make it. That I think would be great to solve late issues. Me and Joey were at the Gas station until 7:10 we must of just missed each other. Yeah the cell deal could be very helpful.

Guys that really sucks!I posted that I was'nt going...went fishin',caught 1 and a buzz.Frank and myself are going to hopefully scope out a new area soon.I have one already that he wants to see.The nicer the weather gets, the more campers, atvs, horse riders, etc.will be at BT.This will be a problem ALL winter long,we will have to take the crappy spots, and thats if they're available. As for the no-shows...thats just lame.Do some of you people even like to play airsoft? Sure does'nt look like it.I know who likes to play...they show for the games. All you guys on the forum...where are you at? You know who you are![V]

We need to implement the whole phone idea. PM ofcourse. Maybe before we head out the door we can give the host's cell phone a call, or call everyone the night before. But honestly, only post if you are going. I'm sorry I wasn't able to go! I had to go get my permit! Unfortunatley, I had to wait on line to hear that I need my Birth Certificate. Oh well. Ill get it Tuesday! Anyone up for a game this Sunday? Saturday I got to go with my mom to a doll show and to Game On!

You might also want to post a radio freq for people to call in on when they get there and can't find the rest of the crew.

I feel it is just more of a lack of commitment. If you say you are going to go, go! And be on time too. I'd rather not have gotten up at 0430 hours, myself. Geez, I can't tell you how bad I felt for Joey who drove all the way down from Prescott just to have it cancelled. I know I'd feel lousy if I drove to Prescott just to find out that I really didn't have to waste my gas.

Even if you are a minor, be an adult about this! If you make a committment, keep your committment. A lot of your fellow airsofters are relying on you. If you say you will be there, and something comes up last minute, POST IT ON THE APPROPRIATE FORUM AT LEAST BY THE NIGHT BEFORE!!! Those who are organizing it, can then have the opportunity to check it and make a determination whether or not it is still a 'go' and if not, make a couple of phone calls.

This is NOT rocket science, it is common courtesy (which is not so common anymore).

I wasn't aware such a huge issue was going on. I haven't attended any games yet, though I hope to once my mom ships my gun to me, but I also wasn't aware that the only 2 majo fieleds we play at are almost 150 miles apart. I'm much closer to BT, but even that is far away. I'll tell you one thing. I aint stayin in Zona once I finish college. No offense to you guys but it's too damn hot for me, and no good places to play or buy stuff.

Really the only state that has more places to buy from and more/better places to play is California... and with all the liberals running around out there, it won't stay that way for very long.

There are several more than just two places to play in this state. The two you keep hearing about are just the more popular ones.

FALSE DEPLOYMENT!!!!
« Reply #13 on: September 20, 2003, 08:04:19 AM »
This is for everyone in general who plays airsoft and posts that they are coming to a designated game day.

This Saturday Sept. 20th we had 8 confirmed people who posted they were coming to the game that day and with many maybes in between. Only 4 showed up and one guy drove out 150miles for this game only to have it cancled because of lack of intrest or sleep. [V] People actually plan to come to these games and set their schedules acordingly. And for those of us who do we ask that in the future that people only post on game threads if they are actually going to show up, rain, snow, sleet, or even if it is the apocolypse its self. Its just common curtisy that if you say your going to be somewhere that you actually do show up. Especially when people are counting on you.

I know that life at times presents problems and there is nothing that you can do about it. Thats fine, but there has just been too many people saying "Im going, Ill be there" and thats the last we hear from them, never to be seen agian. If you said you were going but cant, please post that you cant so we can take you off the list. Otherwise we are counting on you.

This wouldnt be a big deal if we had so many players but it is a big deal when people plan for a game and drive all the way up there and it is cancled becuase there isnt enough people. Think of how youd feel if you drove up and wasted a morning or a day of work becuase the game was cancled because no one showed up. This is a serious problem lately and needs to be resolved. I would not post untill I knew for sure that I am actually going to be able to go. Thanks for your time and continuing efforts.
