Where do you buy your bbs?
« on: May 02, 2011, 04:14:31 PM »
Looking at all the available options of getting ammo, where do you guys get your BB's?
Also I know alot of people like mixing certain BB's together, especially for night ops. 2/3 Normal BB's and 1/3 glow in the dark. So whats your favorite type of BB's?

(If getting it off eBay which specific seller?)

Best deal in town is at gearbox. Hands down.

About 10$ less than command post
About 8$ less than APD.

And they are high quality madbull bb's. Not bulk bb's in a ziplock.

What's their usual going rate? How much for how many? (and size)

I forget the qty. But I pay 17.99 a bag for .28 madbull bb's. I think 4000?  But I only use .28 so I forget the others pricing. You should call gearbox to find out then post all the prices

Bioshotbb.com

Most accurate bbs I've used out of KSC .25s, TSD .25s, TSD .26s, Goldenball .2s, Goldenball .25s, BB King .25 bios, and G&G .25s.

Sometimes they have feeding issues with midcaps though.  Mine feed fairly well (not perfect, but not terrible), but others cannot get them to feed in their mids.

My next choice of bbs would be G&G or BB King.  BB King bbs have a lawsuit against their name, by B.B. King's (musician) lawyers (lol seriously?) so they might not be available soon.  Their quality has supposedly gone down as well.  G&Gs are pretty solid though.

Actually I used crossman .25's in a pinch through my 6.03 barrel. Not a single hitch.  But being a big company I bet they have a good r&d department and probably decent qc.

I have used many, many types of pellets. Right now Bioval .3's are my favorite for serious games, and the crossman .2's for any other op.

The walmart brand pellets are rebranded goldenballs. They are pretty damn good for the price. Which seems like a huge contradiction.

I wonder if they have switched at my walmart.

At my local Walmart (up in Anthem), the ones I have don't seem to be Goldenball.  My batch has several oversized bbs.  (they don't jam completely, but they kinda just float out the gun).  I have tried rolling bbs through a stock JG barrel and several of them would get stuck and couldn't roll all the way through.

Maybe they just haven't cleaned out the stock yet, so they still have old ones.  I do know that Crosman has improved the quality of their bbs.  The bbs in the new jar (it has a different sticker) are a lot nicer than their older ones.  I purchased mine around December IIRC. (last year)

The ones I have aren't terrible though. Excluding the fliers (which is probably due to the diameter issue) they are surprisingly accurate.  I wouldn't feel very comfortable running them constantly in my Madbull 6.03mm since they have some oversized bbs. (they could eventually harm the barrel)  They are good for plinking or stock barrels though.

The Wal-Mart Crosman bbs work great in stock barrels, I used them for months without a single issue. However, they are horrible in TBBs. I currently primarily use TSD bio .20s and they work quite well. About $24 for a bag of either 4k or 5k rounds at APD.
