AEG's / hmm... i feel noobish
« on: August 09, 2005, 02:08:52 PM »
Ok, so I have a question of opinion here, that may seem somewhat noobish.

But what the hell.

I am trying to decide whether I want to buy a CA M15a4 carbine, or an ICS/AE Car-97.  It's quite a dilema I'm having too.  heheh.  I know that CA makes quatlity stuff, and I love my M15 rifle.... but the ICS M4 is looking somewhat tempting, and I'm qutie interesting in that 2 piece gearbox.  Plus its an (aluminum, they say) body, instead of pot metal like CA.

So i'm looking for opinions.  Possibly from what people with firsthand experience (i.e. own one of the 2)... but anything helps.

Heh, thanks.

Troubleshooting / spring dilema.... urgent!
« on: May 26, 2005, 05:12:35 PM »
Ok, so I went in to install a Systema M130 today in my M15a4.  Obviously have metal bushings.

Now, the thing is, after tossing it in and making sure everything was good, I plugged in my new 9.6V 3300mah battery....  And the piston came back almost all the way and locked up.  Every time I pull the trigger, the piston just kinda budges about 1/16th of an inch and then goes back to where it was.  Opened it back up and double checked on everything, and still i get the same.

Any ideas of whats going on?  Is an M130 to much for a stock CA gearbox?

General Airsoft Discussion / light vehicle rules
« on: April 03, 2005, 10:19:13 PM »
So my friends and I are wondering...  well, let me start out with this.

My bud has a 1946 Willys Jeep.  We've been approaching a lot of it as a possible vehicle to use while airsofting.  If we were to want to use it in games (as we would likely mount a 1919a4 on it), what would be the rules on it?  I mean... if people are going to be, well, childish, and decide to dictate each rule before we play than its not even worth making the .30 cal for it.  And its not worth using it besides as a transport to and from the AO and staging area.

THis is basically what we are NOT looking for:

People boycotting its use before each game because its "unfair"

People making the rules for what would "disable it" before each game (stupidities like "ooo, i shot your tire with a bb, so its flat and now you cant drive", and "i unloaded a high-cap on the front so its destroyed")

People whinning to ride in it when its not up to them.

We're basically looking for rules on the conduct, and on, like I said, what would disable it (i.e. direct shot with bb shower from a grenade, rockets, charges, etc.).

So what can you all tell me?

General Off-Topic Discussion / Problem that should be dealt with
« on: March 28, 2005, 09:21:46 PM »
Ok, so recently, I have seen a increase in public display of racist terms and ideas on AA, and I am frankly fed up with it.  As an organization, is it not a responsibilty for Airsoft Arizona to be free of such things in order to create an environment that is as friendly as possible to all?

I see the mods. doing things about posts with extreme vulgarity and have not yet had to deal with to many extreme views (though I have seem some), but not once have I seen anyone do anything about the problem we see to much in society: racism.  I see it enough in the media, but why do I have to see it on an airsoft organizations forums?  Seeing people refer to middle eastern people as "towel heads" and "jihads" and all the like has franky gotten me very sick of many things.  Derogatory and/or racist terms should not be tolerated and something besides a stupid thread about it should be done.

I do not feel that it would be great for a parent, looking at this forum for information on a sport that their teenager has already, without their presence, gotten pulled into, to see such things.  Argue about your "kids don't belong in airsoft" feelings somewhere as, as that was only brought up to show one of the hazards of allowing such, for the lack of words, incompetent statements to be let untouched.

By allowing such ignorant statements to be made, none the less by some of the younger people, of age or not, and to go untouched is just giving more ammo to the upset opposers of airsoft.  They can simply argue that the military-type environment "provokes racist ideals", and will use that further against all things airsoft and/or MIL-SIM related. Can we let this happen?

I have to wonder... what ever happened to the alleged Jungle Toy store being opened in Tucson?  Any news at all?  From what I heard, the plan earlier this year/late last year was to have it open... well... now.  But i haven't heard anything about it.  Location?  Date?  Estimates?

General Airsoft Discussion / has this happened to anyone else?
« on: October 26, 2004, 07:25:27 PM »
Ok, I just received a CA M15 that I ordered from Airsplat.  I ordered the M15a4 (m16 one), and I received the a2.  I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else who has bought from airsplat.  It is a shame, because on their site, it shows a picture of the a4, and it is called the a4.  DO they think that their buyers don't know the difference?  Its a shame, because I need to swap it, but I doubt it will get done in time before the SASCO game SATAC is hosting on the 30th.  But has anyone had this happen to them?

(I hope this is in the right place).

AEG's / Sadness upon my Mp5... And I need YOUR help!
« on: September 26, 2004, 07:05:36 PM »
I was airsofting today, I took a spill, and snapped the front of my receiver on my AE mp5a4 where the hop up adjustment is.

Anyways, I don't feel like putting 100 bucks back into the gun for a new receiver, and a new hop up (the hop up was cracked and it broke once I opened the receiver).  I was planning on getting a new AEG sometime down the road, so I guess I just made my way up that road a bit quicker.  So I'm just going to sell of the parts.

This is where you guys come in.  I have a perfectly funtional tactical foregrip w/ tac lamp (needs batteries), which I think I can get about 50 out of.  And also a CA rail mount.  But as for the more important parts, like the motor, gearbox, grip, and stock,  I think I need a bit of help there from you guys.  I'm not to aware of what this stuff should be sold for used, only what the stuff goes for new.  It is all in pretty good condition, except the selector plate decided that it is going to fire on auto when it's set to semi (i've tried fixing this, and I didn't have to much luck).  If anyone wants to help me out here, I would REALLY appreciate it.  I need to get some funds together for a new AEG, and this is where I'm going to start.

I hope this is placed in the right place....

General Airsoft Discussion / Tucson repairs
« on: August 22, 2004, 07:32:19 PM »
I was wondering if anyone here is qualified to make professional AEG repairs and is located in Tucson.  I've been having troubles with my Mp5, and it even has my neighbor, the almighty airsoft gun genious, stumped.  I don't want to go to Phoenix to get repairs, and I can't wait the time it takes for the Tucson Jungle Toy location to get set up.

If anyone is or knows of a Tucson AEG repair person, please reply to this topic ASAP.  Thank you.

« on: July 13, 2004, 01:54:36 PM »
OK, i just got my new mp5.  But when i went to shoot (battery charged for 30 mins), i didnt get anything.  SO i opened up the buttstock, and i found that the red wire leading from the battery connecter is out of the fuse box.  I tried reconnecting, but still no luck.  How can i fix this ASAP?  THe other wire seems to just be held in my pressure.

AEG's / ICS mp5a4 and dechargers
« on: July 02, 2004, 08:14:12 AM »
Im pretty new to AEG's.  I have heard a lot about dechargers, and how you need one if you want your battery to have a long life.  So are they essentials?  And about how much do they run for.

Also, i have a new ICS Mp5a4 in the mail right now (was $210 w/ battery, charger, dual high cap mags, taclight), and i was wondering what some people who own it think of it.
