The only dedicated airsoft store in Arizona is Gearbox Airsoft (http://www.gearboxairsoft.net).  There's a few paintball stores that sell airsoft equipment as well.

Unfortunately they don't have an online store so I can't see what they have.

There used to be a place called Command Post somewhere near the scottsdale area a few years back. Haven't heard about them since, unfortunately. Also Arizona Paintball Depot used to have a HUGE selection of airsoft gear....but again, that was a few years ago. Currently they still sell airsoft gear, but their selection tends to be very limited, and whenever you go in to ask about a product they give you the same "The airsoft stuff is just coming in slowly and unpredictably right now" speech. Decent service though, that's where I bought my Echo 1 M4, and they're pretty good with making repairs/modifications to airsoft guns. Lol I guess if you want a good selection of gear (no guns though), you could check out the army surplus store (actually named Allied Surplus) I've bought some great gear from them, including a full digital ACU uniform for only $60. :)

Command post is decent stuff, but compared to the others (Gearbox and APD) they are overpriced

Last I checked apd had higher prices. One thing I noticed about all the airsoft stores is that they all have the same contracts with dealers.  Its hard to say one has better gear than the other. The reall question is how is the company's service record and where are they located at.  For me I would rather pay a bit more for better service. Since I have gotten into airsoft I have been to apd I have been to vangard, command post ,and gearbox. I know from my experiance they have better tecks and cheeper prices to get your guns worked on at commandpost then all the other stores

I agree with XavierMace. I have always gone to Gearbox for everything. Ron has the best employees (Xavier) that can fix or help you with just about anything. Highly recommend them.

Gun wise all the stores are the same or in a general sense the same area. But buying bb's is a different story.

Command post cost of .28 echo1 5,000 bb's is 29.99 plus tax
Gearbox cost of the same bb's is 17.99 plus tax

My opinion is that I would rather drive the 45 minutes to gearbox. To pay almost half for the same brand and quality. With repais I will pay a little more but have a fix that I feel better about knowing a professional worked on it and that is all that they do. Now not to bash on paintballer retails but their main income is paintball not airsoft

 Command Post lives!!??? Yaaayyyy!!! Hahaha

Update 8/6: Went to CP today....gotta say, I was rather disappointed :(. Hardly any selection of guns or accessories, and the few things they did have were significantly overpriced. I went back to APD for comparison afterwords, who happened to have several items in stock I was actually going to purchase from an online retailer sometime in the near future, at the same or similar prices, as well as a decent selection of AEGs and GBBs :). Though I will admit, the guy in CP was nice lol. However the guy in APD was also a bit more knowledgable in airsoft. Definitely nice to know of another place I can go to check out some (admittadely minimal) airsoft gear though, so I'm still glad I went to check it out today.

Arizona Paintball Depot is pretty good for accessories. Kind of good with guns.

APD can generally be hit or miss. Last time I was in there (just a few days ago) it seemed they had just gotten in fresh stock of guns, so they had a couple different KWA GBBs, and a nice variety of AEGs. CA M4s (M4A1, compact SEAL, etc.), Echo 1 AEGs (M14, P90, etc.), as well as a nice selection of accessories ranging from silencers to speed loaders, all at (surprisingly) competitive prices O.o. Haha I sound like a commercial  ](*,)

Apd isn't bad at all I've been there a few times. They have a good selection at good prices

Yeah I remember a few years back when they had that giant store with a whole huge section of airsoft gear and loads of guns....gahh I miss that. So many things I wish I would've bought from them (if I had the money) back then that I wish I had now...Oh well. I still like going there nonetheless. :D

Not that it matters, and this might be an inappropriate place to ask... But what exactly happened to the giant jungle toy conglomerate? I know no one probably really cares, and it really doesnt matter... but i used to drive up to their stores for BBS back in the day... they never had a great selection of guns either...

Yeah, JT is no more, they went under.  nil8r runs what was formerly the Tempe Jungletoy now known as Gearbox Airsoft.

When it was JT, the selection and prices weren't as good.

Ron and the guys over there are really good about matching or beating even big retailers if you ask and they can do it. If they don't have something in stock, they can probably get it. Why bother with the silly paintball stores?

Haha makes sense. I've been down to Gearbox once and, though their store was rather small, I loved it there :). I needed help fixing up an old beat up M4 a friend gave me, and the guy in there was incredibly helpful! Picked out all the right parts, put it all together right then and there, and all at a really amazing price :D. Now if only they weren't so far  :? .....

Big plug for my friend Jeremiah..If he can't fix whatever you've got, it's time to unload it for parts on the board.

Ron and Jeremiah WERE Jungletoy in AZ back in the day. Jungletoy went tits-up because of the goofy CEO dudes running it and their shit inventory from L.A... Taiwan, wherever. Gearbox is Ron's baby, he's Good People in my book, -Won't beat you for a dime.

Like what was said earlier.. Why buy from some paintball store when wou can support guys in OUR hobby..

Chip

Yeah Jeremiah is a really good tech. Every time I have needed something installed or fixed, he would fix it like it was nothing. Gearbox is called GEARBOX for a reason. :D

Well its good to hear that they seem to be doing well and better than the previous store. Its good to know theres a good tech around. I can do most of the work i need, but theres always that one time where you need help or cant figure something out. I also hate re shimming ;)

Its good to see some stories of same day service too. Up here at Fox airsoft you can expect your gun to be in for a week, more if they dont have all the parts... There also seems to be some technical discrepancies here and there over types of tech, and what you should do to your gun. I like the guys though and there some good people. I cant wait to get down there and check out gearbox though, i know they'll be getting alot of my business, i dont have time to wait on internet sites to tell me i have to wait another month :)

Anyone have an updated list of airsoft shops in Phoenix? Or know of a shop that lets you put gear up for consignment.
