Great for indoors or CQB; absolutely useless otherwise.  The look cool though.  I have a laser for my pistols as well as my AEG's.  I have never used either laser though.

Yeah, I was thinking for CQB, like at the Ranch, and my main concern was accidentally flashing someone in the eyes and doing damage. Thanks for the advice.

Now I think I heard somewhere (Usually thats not a good way to start a sentance, but...) that even the most powerful of laser pointers or laser aiming devices have something like 5000 seconds of continued exposure to an eye before they begin to produce even negligible damage to the eye.  Of course, don't go pointing lasers into people's eyes, to begin with, but that seems like a rather mitigating factor for lasers in general.

As far as lasers go for aiming assistance, I'd have to agree with Paco, they're likely going to be an indoor only type of thing.  I myself have never used or owned a laser for use on a weapon, (Airsoft or otherwise) but I would imagine it's not the kind of thing you could use outside during the day with much success.  I have a nice red dot sight for my SR-16, and I don't use it much, because I don't see it increasing my accuracy or anything, its purely cosmetic to me. (Which, may be important to certain people)  When I first got into airsoft, I thought I might use a laser, because I figured I could see where my bbs were going to land... but I quickly learned that the bbs themselves provide a very decent tracer effect, and thats more than enough for me to correct my aim.

As I said, cosmetically, lasers are cool, but useful, I'm not sure...

Lasers look really creepy if your playing at night and it's really foggy.  =P

"Oww...what was that for you t. The more compact weight and size should also handle a metal slide kit alot better. The only problem with the trademarks is I heard KSC is getting/had a suit against them by Glock Inc. Apparently the G17 and 18c models were a little too real, so it would be hard, if even at all possible, to find a KSC Glock 19 with accurate trademarks. You can however buy a custom slide that has the real trades at Den Trinity (look at URL below) by Shooter Design. They make high quality slides. Expensive but worth it, check it out.

Lasers?
« Reply #4 on: July 20, 2002, 12:01:13 PM »
I'm pondering buying a sidearm (Namely, a Glock 19). I'm also interested in either a flashlight or a laser (more interested in a laser). however, I do want to know everyone's opinion on them, as they will cause eye damage if pointed there. I have read the rules, and see nothing prohibiting lasers, but I just want to be clear about it (not really AA games, but all others), before I go and splurge $50 on a CA laser for the Glock.
