Positive experience with a new (new to me) retailer
« on: December 16, 2011, 10:03:37 AM »
I'm writing this to tell everyone about my extremely positive experience with "Crazy Cromag's Airsoft Emporium", crazycromags.com, about a week ago. They are based in Indiana.

TL; DR: Crazy Cromag's is solid on customer satisfaction and fast shipping. 5/5 for this retailer.

Details:

After hunting for an SR12 for many months and being jerked around by two other (larger) retailers, I had given up hope on ever finding an SR12 before Christmas. I learned about CCAE from the KWA forums, got in contact with the owner through several emails (which were answered very promptly), and ordered an SR12, which shipped that very same day.

And there's more good to comment on: KWA has long since discontinued the practice of including low profile, flip up, adjustable iron sights with the SR12. I had actually accepted this sad fact after contacting the other retailers and confirming with them.

But out of habit, I asked, and Crazy Cromag said that they had one SR12 in inventory that had the older, flip up irons. I asked if I could somehow reserve it before I ordered, since I was still at work. I also asked if I could cancel the order for a full refund if somehow I did not get that unit when I ordered. They answered yes to all my questions, and the owner of Crazy Cromag personally pulled that SR12 out of inventory to set it aside for me, on the spot. There was no additional charge.

The owner also emailed me to confirm that he shipped out the specific unit I requested. After 6 painfully long days of waiting  :P it got delivered to my doorstep, and no more than an hour after that, the owner called me to check and make sure I was satisfied.

Disclaimer: Crazy Cromags didn't know of me or what my level of proficiency with airsoft is. I have no doubt that they treat every customer as awesomely as me, and they didn't offer any compensation for this review, and I am 100% independent in my recommendation.

Many thanks to Tim McGuin (USN Veteran), owner of CCAE.

I just bookmarked that site. Guns a bit high but everything else looks decent. Will be ordering some stuff tonight.

I bought from/played with him back in Ohio.  Good guy, by the player, for the player kind of shop.

yes, his prices weren't any lower than anyone else I'd seen, but I still got the SR12 for 15% off, with free shipping, a free dead rag, and a free CCAE morale patch.

Sometimes I don't mind paying a little more if it's supporting a "smaller" business (not to make any assumptions about CCAE's success or market presence). To me, better customer service sometimes comes at a higher cost of sales. To this day, the best customer service I've gotten is from Airsoft Atlanta, and CCAE.

Also, I wouldn't have been able to get an older SR12 with the pop up irons if I had bought from any of the larger retailers with slightly lower prices....

Just another great victory for me (in my airsoft career) that was almost lost to defeat from scarcity. A few years back, I also got a great deal on a zero trigger a few years back. Got it on sale for 116$ when they were selling for 145. And now they're averaging 200!
