My painted gats
« on: June 26, 2005, 10:18:42 PM »
Was a productive day in BFE at busta's.

Painted the L96 OD. Looks almost identical to the real steel now.

Another view.

Andy testing out my M700.

I guess it meets with his approval.

Hope to see you guys on Sunday @ MT.

Wow, our team's sniper uses a springer M16 as a sniper rifle.  You want to trade?

My question is: Do you really need a scope that big?  Does that M700 have the range to even utilize that scope?

Ask ATF over here. I predict an answer somewhere in the ballpark of : "cause I can."

Oh, so thats what that is.
For a second I thought you'd bolted the space shuttle to your rifle.  :)

Im just kidding. But anyway, Ive been looking into getting an action an barrel for an 03' sprg I was wanting to put together. In terms of power an reliability, Im wondering how the L96 fairs in hot weather. Does it like to hit light sometimes, or does the weather even effect the functoning at all?

Im sure that the accuracy is alot less than what the scope was originally designed for, but im assuming it probably works well with the right kind of bbs. Also, what kind of range are you getting with that? Ive always liked the sniper platform, but ive never been able to find the rifle Im looking for.

the size has nothing to do with it, the sun shade makes it look big, but i have one that big on my rifle, they are just 3x9 zoom, I have one thats 1/3rd that size with the same zoom.

Heres the low down

Both guns are Vinces, however I painted both. The one IM holding in the pics is the KJW m700, the other is the Maruzen L96, both are pretty nice. Both require some heavy ass bb's...Especailly the KJW.

KJW m700: This gun will shoot thru 4 boxes both sides and stil have some power.. HFC22....IT will even go thru a couch(we found that out on accident). The KJW needs some tweaking, cutting, unscrewing and some lube to get it where you want it. We only messed around but with heavy bb's I am sure it can make 200ft shots. A review is pending. Also, as someone I know so elequantly put it "The sunshade makes the sniper, not the gun!" The point is, it looks cool to have a big scope and lets more light it...Besides Little scopes on an M700 is ugly.

L96: Good gun, solid when the bolts are in and fairly light. Although I dont like anything spring It can hit pretty far and pretty hard. Review pending....

Tanaka M40: On the way from HK as we speak, Gen II with new PCS and pegasus bolt, adjustable "Tanaka hop".... These have been known to range up to 500ft...NO im not exagerating... I know a guy in germany who has made a few kills at 150meters. And a guy who went to LC who made 4 or 5 130yd+kills(hardcore B. CO snipers)....Review Pending also....

For those wondering about these reviews, we have 2 posted alreaedy. It is a site Justin(Einstein) and myself have been tinkering with. Feel free to read up. We will try to add as many reviews as possible with the best info we can... Within the next month Id like to get 4-5 of the sniper rifles the 3 of us have together and have a shoot out to determine the most accurate. More details to come.
