G&G PM5-A4 Thoughts?
« on: June 11, 2011, 10:21:34 PM »
Ok, I have to apologize beforehand for adding several new topics regarding guns lately, I know it must be kind of annoying to some of you out there, but this is the LAST one of these I will create, at least for now. Ok, I've finally settled on the G&G PM5-A4 gun, does anyone know if this is a decent gun overall (it doesn't have to be perfect). Is there some horrific flaw in this gun that I don't know about, or is it really as good as it sounds? I've heard many good things about this gun, but I want a second opinion from the people here. Thanks once again.

I have a G&G MP5A4 electric blowback which I use as my primary, and let me say, I love it! Shoots stock around 280fps with .20s. Only internal upgrades I've had done are a Classic Army m120 spring and Systema hop up bucking, everything else is stock. Now shoots around 385fps with .20s. I run a 7.4v 20-30c 5000mah LiPo, and although the motor gets a bit hot at times (especially on full auto), it always runs like a champ. Ridiculously accurate, especially for such a short barrel (and a stock one at that). Never have I felt outgunned on the field. Compact, very maneuverable, great field peice. Just watch out for the mags... Seems to be a bit finnicky, I've had some which double/misfeed, and one or two others which don't even fit in the magwell. TM mags should be ok, and I know for a fact MAG brand mags will work perfectly. Midcaps seem to feed better than hicaps for MP5s in my experience. Since I switched to all mids and a Systema bucking, every shot shoots great.

External upgrades currently are a scope mount, NC Star 4-reticle red dot sight, front rails (replaces A4 handguard), and soon to be UTG Xenon flashlight and sling.

Anyways, enough bragging  :P .

My biggest complaint is the flash hider. G&G's MP5 flash hiders screw into the gun, where as most other MP5's just drop right in. This makes finding a replacement/black one rather difficult, so I ended up just painting it myself.

As far as functionality you can't go wrong! Great weapon, and I love being the only one at events with an MP5, and a customized one at that.
