Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl
« on: April 04, 2011, 03:29:59 PM »

*Not my pic

Hi guys, figured I would post up another interesting game idea I had.

For a while now, I have been pondering the idea of an airsoft game, themed on the Stalker series. I have had several good ideas that have been run to paper, and was going to give it a quick teaser to see if any players would be interested.

Since its just a teaser, I will throw out a few key points, and leave you with some questions  :P

For anyone who hasn't played, or at least learned of the series, relevant info can be found here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S.T.A.L.K.E.R.:_Shadow_of_Chernobyl

Quick concepts:

A few different groups of players, each of separate teams that can band/Split at will
Individual players, each competing alone, or creating alliances to traverse/ control/ loot the "Zone"
Rare and fun props scattered across the map as artefact's to be collected for $$
Whatever uniform you have now, is probably in the game
FULLY FUNCTIONING In-Game market system
Missions
Excellent role diversity
Limited ammo system
Night/Dusk scenarios
As players factions interact, game experiences would shift and change continuously
Radiation System
Unknown and dangerous enemies lurking in the dark....

And much more!

Hmm, a lot of the details are vague, but this would be a very, very fun scenerio :D
Perhaps there would be some sort of safezone/town thing where players could purchase ammo and other suplies. Not too sure how the whole radiation thing would work though. Unless we strapped ourselves with geiger counters and marched out into the mojave wasteland.. oh wait.. wrong game.

Hard to control, hard to keep fair. Fingerless gloves on NBC suits tells me all I need to know about this.

In this thread's defense, Ganef...STALKER : Call of Pripyat is basically the coolest game I've played in a super long time.

Actually have a pretty good idea how to balance these guys out. Still in planning though, but have a pretty solid idea.

Thats then angle I am going from. Not all players are going to be running around aimlessly.

If it had been 1/2 as fun as stalker, maybe.... but no.

JUST ONE MORE ADDED spoiler.

Never played this particular game but am a fan of similar games.
Sounds kind of interesting!
Management/Game control would be a bitch.
Neat idea though. I'd probably play it just to do something totally different.

Thats the spirit I am hoping for! I figure its something unique, that can encompass a pretty cool afternoon-night game, and the general consensus appears to be that its something many people would be willing to try.

If my 3-4 core ideas work out, this game will, at the very least, be fun for those who attend.

Never played Stalker, but this sounds like fun. Provided the AO is decent and the game kept fair, I'd be willing to try it out.  [smilie=armata_pdt_01.gif]

I'd love to see a STALKER game come to fruition.  The role play aspect should be big though, or else it will just be a dress up shoot out.
