In a case of irony, found this on a Polish airsoft store. http://www.taiwangun.com/en/metal-body-for-bi-hk416-black-boyi

I've gotta ask though, because I feel like I've wasted a lot of time today now... How did you find this?

its not hard to get what you are looking for, you just have to go outside the states to find what you are looking for. japan, hk, china, and other places make and stock what you are looking for. your just going to pay through the nose to get it shipped to you.

Okay, I've been searching for bare receivers all day online and no one seems to have any in stock. If I'm missing something that apparent, can you help a guy out with a few distributors or possibly even links? Money isn't the question, it's just finding parts in stock or someone who can get them.

Looks like it's going to be a challenge, but I'm going to keep my eyes peeled. I've got three major distributors around the world all on an "alert by email" as soon as it may get back in stock. Fingers crossed...

Airsoft Items WANTED / WTB 416 Full Metal Upper/Lower (HK416)

I am looking to rebuild my 416, and if anyone knows about this platform and the history behind HK's issue with trademarking, it has made it extremely hard to get aftermarket metal upper/lowers. If anyone comes across one (upper OR lower, doesn't have to be together) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PM me. I don't care if it's scuffed up and worn, it'll get a healthy cosmetic makeover before being put to use. Again, if you find a matched set, or an upper or lower alone, PM me with the requested price tag and I'd be more than glad to oblige. Thanks!

The upper receivers on 416's are proprietary.  They've got a taller top rail and typically a notch cut in it to keep the RIS unit in place.

Okay, so if I found a 416 metal upper/lower would that be a legitimate swap? The thing is, I like my gun and really don't see a need to buy a whole new one for a DMR when this one with the extended barrel and mock suppressor already has perfect length.

Googletyme.

Easier said than done. The Echo 416 is discontinued so finding specs is a feat.

I also believe the Echo 416 has proprietary external parts, but I could be wrong.

Meaning all the parts around the receiver will only fit that receiver? I mean, the actual H&K 416 is an M4 variant with only the gas system being the major change. Therefore would the M4 (External dimensions) no be the same? If so, swapping the receivers from 416 to M4 wouldn't make a difference, right? Please, correct me if I'm missing something. lol

I need a new gearbox, trigger assy, ect. I blew the old one to pieces and my daughter got into the parts layout and now I can't even tell what's missing. Plus, I don't like the Echo receivers "cheap" feel. See where I'm coming from?

Trackin'. Good looking out.
Maybe stick with my current (Echo 614)? Would you know if I could do the G&P full metal swap since they're the same type (M4 platform, v2 gearbox)?

Oh yeah okay I get what you're saying and to that I agree. Yeah I mean honestly, I haven't cleared a room with one (outside of airsoft). That's what my TLR-1 below my XD40 is for. :) I do however carry the 1,000L TrustFire model on my carrier at work, but again it's for observations only.

Right, that's what I'm saying. None of that daily wear and tear has had any affect on mine. Not here to really argue this, and that's where I feel this may be going. Just thought I'd point out a bright as f*ck light series that's a great bang for the buck which I figured a lot of guys on here may appreciate.

None yet, that's why I wanted to ask about velocity issues in games. Why do you ask? I mean, I understand it's a cheap gun and all but will that sh*t not hold up in there?

What are you trying to build.
These builds can be fun animals, but money traps if you don't plan.

Just a fun gun, to see what I can make happen. The base is a Well AW-338 MB08D, but all internals upgraded (spring, guide, piston, cylinder head, sear, seals, trigger box, hop up, TB, etc) and a few external mods for stability, comfort, and consistency. Other than that; a new paint job, decent optics, and I think I'll be good.
