It depends on a lot of things. You could loose a tooth. Or it might just feel like some one flicked you on the cheek. If you care about your good looks, wear some facial protection.

As Haji says, "Just don't lead with your head..."

I make it a point to consciously keep my mouth closed as well.

I've had my lip busted open before, but thats about it. I think, as with a lot of things, its a calculated risk.

After the accident at the Prescott game, I kept having to remind myself to keep my mouth closed.
So my Oakley Fives are ok to play airsoft with? Sa-weet! Any documentation to back this?

As long as:

1 - You're over 18
2 - They meet the minimum requirements as stated in the Rules (for AA events)

If you're not sure of their rating, contact Oakley. After all, they are YOUR eyes, and you've only got two.

Personally, I wouldn't ever play airsoft without completely sealed goggles.

Joey, yes the ones I wear are ANSI Z87.1 tuff. They are the Smith & Wesson Magnum shooting glasses. I really like them, they provide a good wrap around for protection. Nice look for a fraction of the cost of a set of Oakley M-Frames. They seem to be really popular because everwhere I have looked the smoke and clear lense versions are sold out and have been for the past year or so. I have been looking for a set of clear ones forever! So if anyone spots a set let me know.

Christian, I had a pair of Oakley XXs that got a couple of shots once at a game - the lenses were fine but the frame snapped around one lense [:(]. I was sad... Some Oakley M-frames or Pro M-Frames with some Swoop or Heater shape lenses should be a much stronger alternative while still remaining fashionable and sexy on the field[;)].

Roger that, Mikey. Thanks for the info, everyone!
Jason, I wouldn't wear them in a game, but only for shooting targes or such. Maybe at the staging area as an alternative to the Bolles. I always keep my goggles on if someone has a mag loaded, no matter where it is. I also agree about sealed goggles. The Fives do not provide good enough protection on the sides to warrant me risking it. It is good to know that they could handle it, though.

Just as a reference, I use ESS Turbocam's for airsoft, and I have a couple pairs of Oakley M Frames that I use for shooting (real) that I would definitely not wear for airsoft. [:)]

Cheapest place to get them new will probably be online.

Paco is correct in saying your best bet in online. However, Arizona Tactical has some goggles that you can take a look at. Just don't buy there, they wanted 80 bux for some T800s!

You could also take a look at some players goggles at the game on the 21st. I'm sure someone will have a pair you can borrow and use that day. Heck, you can use my T800s if you want. But definitely check them out before you purchase.

Yep! In fact, Ian (Cochise) has that very setup. There is a notch and 2 holes built into the frame of the goggles, and the way in which the RX inserts attach is pretty slick. Other goggles allow RX glasses to be worn underneath, but those are usually too bulky. The T800 is slim and sexy.
