Viper Tech M4A1 Bolt Catch
« on: November 03, 2014, 12:23:12 PM »
hello i recently acquired a Viper Tech M4A1 GBBR of unknown year ( i know its atleast a year old because i knew its original owner and i saw him putting the Viking tactical 13 in RS on it and it has not changed since that day) now i have it when i got it in a trade from its second owner 3 out of the 5 mags needed fixing ( guy ran WE tech mags through it) and the bolt catch never engaged, now i fixed the mags however i just cannot figure out how to fix the bolt catch, ....................can some one help me,

please note i do not know how to post photos on here it would have to be text message pics,
also note this is a version with no Colt trademarks as it was ordered ( by the original owner) directly from the manufacturer and customs removed the trade marks, i tried getting help on the GBB facebook pages but they kept telling me it was a WE tech which i know its not because i owned one before and the insides look nothing like a we tech
also if it makes any difference it has a NPAS what ever that means or is
Please if you can help comment below or PM me

Well considering if it is even possible for a Viper Tech to use WE mags considering they use completely different systems there is no way to get the bolt catch to work unless you get different mags as the way a we tech mag engages the bolt catch is different from how the magma/western arms style mags engage the bolt. So your only options are to get new mags that uses the western arms/ magma style which are Beta Project, Prowin, G&P, GHK(best mags out of all of them), eb tech, JG, and Kingarms.

Also an npas is a valve in the bolt that allows you to adjust your fps by a turn of a tool

to post pics you need to use a website like photobucket to get a img url and paste it in. You should post some pictures of your gun and the internals as i am royally confused by your post. You say you have a vipertech m4 but the previous owner used WE mags which shouldnt even be possible. Do you still use those mags? if it truly is a vipertech m4 you need to use WA system mags like the guy above me said. EB tech mags are the best for a viper i think.

well i guess ill try to get G&P mags, and in response to the other comment there are alot of websites i cannot go on because my Anit virus system Avast flags them as malicious, Photobucket is one of them i talked with the admin about this and he said he does not know what i can do for that.
the only reason why i think the mags are working is because i dis engaged that thing on the mags to where it would not affect the gun, when i first got it it limited the gun to firing one shot then having to re rack the bolt, ( essentially making it a m4 bolt action) but when i dis engaged that thing that triggers the WE bolt catch they worked but would not lock the bolt, i was happy i got the gun working but the fact that i have Extreme OCD it bothers me that the bolt catch does not work
so with that said can you link me where i can buy G&P mags or any of the other brands you mentioned
