What sort of turnout are you expecting? I'd hate to make the trip for a small game.

600+ fps is absolutely ridiculous and completely unsafe. You won't be allowed to play with a weapon that hot at any milsim game or pay-to-play field that I am aware of. Some places may let you run a sniper that hot with bolt-action only and a 150-200ft minimum engagement distance, but even that's iffy. You absolutely do not need more than 400 to 415 fps with .20g rounds for any weapon. I have weapons with flat hops shooting 365fps and I can reach out well over 200 feet.

Building an AEG with as much power as you are implying is categorically unsafe and frankly I wouldn't risk my health playing with someone who thinks that's a good idea. Not to mention player skill is exponentially more important than weapon quality...

Why are you trying to build an AEG that shoots 600+ fps? Even a DMR or sniper rifle doesn't need that kind of power...

I am still looking for a colt-traded M4, as well as an MP5 SD6 (the one with the built-in suppressor and retractable stock)

Sounds like a great rifle... Unfortunately I think it would be too much trouble to get it the way I want.

I am essentially trying to build an IDF service rifle - the basics of which absolutely require a Colt-trademarked receiver, and a standard M4A1 front end (14.1" barrel with bayonet lug and M203 indent, fixed triangle sight, plastic handguards). If you have a Daniel Defense rifle, the receiver likely doesn't have colt trades. Not to mention I don't want to go through all the trouble of trying to re-sell the parts I don't need.

If anyone has a Colt-traded receiver, however, I would be very interested.

Put me down for multicam w/ leafy oversuit or solid green - I can switch the day of depending on team balancing.

Will send you a PM about camping as well.

I would be interested - I have plenty of stuff to sell.

Bump and date changed to this weekend - any milsim out there this weekend? Any big groups going to Fightertown or anything?

That mod looks good to me - can you do some minor stuff like deans conversion, spring/gear swaps, aoe correction/shim/lube and such as well? My guns are overdue for a tune-up. Also what sort of turnaround time? The total body of work I'm looking at is as follows:

1. VFC M4 (very old): hop patch mod, new spring and gears, convert to deans, shim/lube/aoe
2. Echo 1 AKS-74u: spring swap, convert to deans, shim/lube/aoe
3. LCT AK74m: hop patch mod, spring swap, shim/lube/aoe
4. A&K M60E4: outer barrel fitment issues, hop patch mod, convert to deans, shim/lube/aoe

I also have a G&P M4 on order that will need the hop patch mod and re-wiring to the rear.

General Airsoft Game Discussion / Potential MSW in Arizona
« on: April 15, 2015, 11:12:43 AM »
If you're not familiar with Milsim West (MSW), it's the premier company putting on Milsim events in the United States right now. They completely blow things like AMS and Blacksheep out of the water. It's not milsim-lite - these are 40hr full-immersion events with blanks, pyro, vehicles, mortars, with no breaks, safe areas, or returning to your car.

As someone who has been involved with the milsim community on the West Coast for 14+ years, I have been authorized by MSW to scout out potential AO's in Arizona to use for a future event. As I am new to the airsoft and milsim communities here in Arizona, I am turning to you guys to help me make this a reality. If you want to see top-level milsim in your state - this is the time to contribute.

That being said, I need suggestions for AO's that fit the following criteria:

  • 500 acres minimum area
  • 72 hour rental period; 40 hours for the actual event
  • Blank fire must be OK
  • Flares and Pyro must be OK
  • 24/7 operations must be OK
  • Camping must be OK
  • Good sites for combat outposts for both sides that are out of sight and earshot from eachother
  • No more than 3-4 hour drive from airport

I know that fire danger is a major concern in Arizona and pyro/flares might be a point of contention. MSW is fully capable of holding this event outside of fire season and will of course conform with any and all applicable laws. MSW is also willing to hold an event on Tribal Land as long as there is an established precedent. MSW would prefer to use a site that has not been used for any major ops in the past - "virgin" AO's reduce the opportunity for players familiar with the area to have an unfair advantage.

Thanks for your help everyone!

AEG's / Looking for someone to perform R-Hops
« on: April 15, 2015, 11:00:35 AM »
Didn't see this service listed on the tech page - I need someone in the Phoenix area to do a couple R-Hop jobs for me as well as some minor-grade gearbox work. If I like what you do for one weapon, I'll bring you another 6 or so to work on. This could be a lucrative opportunity for someone to overhaul a nice collection.

Reply here or PM.

MODS - please inform if this is the wrong place to post this.

General Airsoft Game Discussion / Re: Night Games?
« on: April 15, 2015, 10:55:44 AM »
I have been to night games in the field where tracers or flashlights are required to simulate muzzle flash and it worked great. All players must activate their flashlights or use tracers with visible flash every time they fire their primary (nothing required for sidearms or launchers).

That way guys like me with night vision don't have an unfair advantage - as sneaky as we wanna be we still need to flash our lights when we fire.

Thats not why I spent $ on NVG lol.
BUT,
Tracers are cool

I understand - I didn't drop $1600 on my NODs for no reason either lol. But it just leads to people getting super butthurt if they keep getting zapped by dudes they can't see. Simulated muzzle flash is not only more fair, it's MILSIMMMMMM
