AZAirsoft Group on Facebook
« on: April 07, 2008, 09:15:20 PM »
Yeah, just letting everyone who has a facebook know that I made a Facebook group just to get to know each other or keep in touch more with people who you met in past games. Also great place for everyone to post pictures or videos and have it all in a small easy to find place.

I will update it with news, games and so on. I may disable the forum part because its usless anyway, and I'll just direct people to this site.

If anyone wants to help me update it let me know. Here's the link

Some go places to be a tourist.
Some go places to be an adventurer.
I go places to conquer.

It's known to be used by college students. No one has to join, just something to join if you'd like too. I made the group so people can keep in touch with each other in and out of Airsoft.

And I also post game news from here, like the Fort Adobe games so on, but I link it to this website for more info. Also people who are searching for a group that don't know about this website can join and see the link that leads to this website.    haterz... :P

Sounds redundant. Are you in the Army by any chance? I'm pretty sure that any person, college student or not, will use google to search for "Airsoft in Arizona", instead of looking on "Facebook" for airsofting in arizona. After all, google is a search engine.

Venom, I'm an avid facebook user, and I'm going to have to agree with everyone else: it's just plain redundant.  Why make a facebook group when there's already an entire website dedicated to Arizona airsofters?

Although Google is the search engine du jour, there is going to be a major shake up in the search market in the next 5 years. The overwhelming popularity of social networks with their vast user networks of consumers who buy goods every day will soon give rise to social search engines, where people will be able to use Facebook as Google in order to gain personal knowledge of the products and services that they are interested in buying. I mean, it kind of makes sense in that if you were going to search for a product, wouldn't you rather have it recommended by someone you know than by some machine? If you know any computer science gurus, now is the time to start working on this because experts have speculated that the idea of a social search engine is why Facebook got such a huge valuation from Microsoft. (15 billion)

That said, it is kind of redundant at this point, but it's free; so why not?

Eh, I say information overload, sometimes I have to stop myself and remember how I know some people, from either Myspace or Facebook. My friends list for both is significantly different, my facebook is usually for work/school and myspace is for friends/family/some airsoft.
