Title: Hello, hello.
Post by: Gravek on December 21, 2005, 01:55:24 AM
Well, seeing how as im new here I decided I should introduce myself. :) I have been interested in airsoft for quite some years now. I've played several games here and there, mostly with springers until about a month or so ago when my brother and I purchased a few LPEG rifles for fun, which only widened our interest.

My friend and the guys at JT told me of this site and it seems quite interesting, the game scenarios and such really have grabbed my intention and I love the grasp for realism. I still dont have a gun yet that can match up to what I've seen here, im still looking around for an AEG or sniper rifle, indecisive shopper, but airsoft seems like something I'd like to put my time and money into.

Im still a student at MCC and live in Chandler, but pretty much have the time to get to these games and I'd like to get involved, and thats pretty much it.

What he said, except if you really want to snipe pick up a kjw m700

Upgrades go fast in spring snipers the g spec I just orderd has 3 times more money into upgrades then the gun.

That was the one I was pondering getting actually, seemed like a pretty stable gun and maybe a good starter weapon than any other sniper rifle out there, then again I could be wrong.

Thats a good way to put it   Well after trolling many posts here the past few days I've seen a lot of good threads about many different guns, but is there a quality aeg stock that would be most viable for someone starting out?

Should I think of putting on some upgrades for the M14 if I purchase it? Since the FPS is at 280 I'd like to get it higher.

Thanks for all the help guys :)

The m14 seems like a sweet option. I got the TM Ak-47 and i am very happy with that. if your going to buy a AEG i suggest going to

http://www.kastway.com
http://www.poweredgeusa.com

good prices and fast and easy shiping.

I suggest geting a AEG first and then if you want a sniper get it. thats the road i am taking, i bought my AK and now i am saving up to get the KJW M700 to snipe. AEGs are alot of fun.

I've been looking at the G&G and TM m14, the G&G has a higher fps, around 330-350, while the TM has 280. The G&G is more expensive, and I'd like a gun with 300+ fps to stand a chance in these games against you all with 400 fps guns, should I be looking into upgrades?

Here at AA we can't stress it enough. The gun does not make the player. This past weekend at Operation Red Sliegh Down, I had a stock Classic Army AK(shoots around 300). In my opinion I did rather well in the firefights with minimal amounts of casualties. Hell, often a Marui will outrange alot of rifles at stock. In prescott when I first got my Marui AK Beta Spetz, I made a shot at nearly 200 feet, outranging my attackers, and killing them both. To my knowledge they had upgraded guns.

If Dave didnt have bad luck with AEGs, he wouldn't have any luck at all

Spur gear on one and Piston on the other, That's what happens when you modify them,

Before the upgrades it lasted a 2day OP and 3 AA games with No problem

Thats still not very good, though.  I've had 1 gun for almost 4 years now, 3 of which its been upgraded and ran like a champ with the only failures being crud-in-the-barrel related.

Was one upgraded to 475? The spur gear should not of broke but oh well, the piston was just the last stock item left in the gearbox couldnt handle the torque of the m150

anyway Back to topic

I would reccomend TM very high stock reliablitiy, But ask dave he will probably reccomend G&G diffrent guns for diffrent people I guess.
Title:
Post by: Gravek on December 22, 2005, 10:51:07 PM
I'll probobly go for the TM because the brand seems to have good reliability and its more affordable, but I'd like to look into some minor upgrades to boost its fps over 300, to mid 300's..although that might not be minor. Any details on that?

Once again, youre all awesome help. :)

There are so many threads about upgrading it is hard to pick which one is the best. Learn in your youth on this board to use the search function it realy is your friend. But be sure to sort by "post subject" or you will find nothing.

here are some of the ones I came up with when I searched with the key word "upgrade":

http://www.airsoftarizona.com/forumbb/v ... =upgrading (http://www.airsoftarizona.com/forumbb/viewtopic.php?t=6990&highlight=upgrading)
