BF SASCO 06OCT07
« on: September 30, 2007, 06:35:04 PM »
AMSOG is going to put on a little capture the flag event at SASCO:

Here is Dan's original post:

Quote
Ever play the video game Battlefield 2 or Battlefield Vietnam? No .. Ever heard of capture the flag? No? Then you've been in a cave somewhere and you should probably go back.

Well we want to try and Airsoft version of Battlefield and what better place than SASCO!!

Quote
BATTLEFIELD SASCO

- The object of the game is simple, control as many of the Control Points on the field as possible for as long as possible.

- You will be divided into two teams. 1 light colored camouflage (Tan &ACU) and 1 dark colored camouflage (Green & Multicam).

- Each Control Point will have a flagpole and 2 flags, 1 colored flag for each team. To show control of the Control Point your team must raise the colored flag for your team. Once your flag is raised you will need to log your team color and the current time but not before your flag is raised. This is used to tally points at the end of the day.

- Points? Your team will be awarded 1 point for taking the Control Point and 1 point for every 10 minutes your team has possession of the Control Point. We will not be rounding up or down on time. For example if your team has the Flag for 37 minutes before it is overrun your team will be awarded 4 points. 1 point for capturing the Control Point and 3 points for the 30 full minutes of control. You will not be awarded points for the 7 extra minutes. You need not have teammates at a Control Point to collect points as long as your colored team flag is up.

- Are points the only way to win? No If your team manages to control all of the Control Points on the field then the other team has nowhere to regenerate thereby you win.

- Regeneration is only possible at a Control Point that your team controls. Regeneration time will be five minutes once you arrive at the Control Point or Flag. If  the Control Point you are regenerating at is overrun before you complete the required 5 minute regeneration period you will need to go to a different Control Point your team has and start your 5 minutes over when you arrive. You will regenerate about 50ft away from your flag in a designated area as to avoid ?confusion?.

I moved this to the local games listings section and added it to the calendar.

The Myrmidons have done several games like this and each one was a lot of fun.

Put me down, I can roll however you need me to.  Maybe some of my brothers from another mother will come out too ;)

Thanks Mikey...I was rushed and not sure where to post it.

We haven't put one on like this, but I think that the layout of the AO is good for it.  We plan to use the entire area, from the cave at the end of the pylons to the hotel.  To make it really work, we'll need a large turn out.  Hopefully TAC members can come through like they did at RRR last month.

Same here.  I don't want to deal with dragging my Eclipse out there and trying to get someone to ferry all my crap across.

If somebody can pick me up at Stapley and Southern, I'm in on green.

I'll be there in Desert MARPAT

BTW, I will be driving Xaviermace, and have room for 1 more person,  maybe 2 if the last person does not have a lot of gear.  again, gas money will be appreciated, as that is a long drive out to SASCO.  I live in Tempe, right near Gearbox (formerly Tempe JT) on McClintock & Southern, so that's an ideal meeting place for me.
