Real Firearms / Handgun Choices
« on: May 07, 2010, 10:50:27 AM »
I am currently looking at picking up a handgun in celebration of AZ's unlicensed concealed carry law that just got passed. I am looking for something that is easily concealed, along the lines of the Ruger LCP, but I am a fan of a full sized handgun for hip carry during hiking camping and the like.

Right now I am considering

1) Springfield Armory 1911 (full sized single stack with fixed sights)
2) Ruger LCP just for a pocket carry small handgun
3) FN Hi Power because I like the gun caliber over the 1911 while having similar controls and handling

I am trying to avoid Glocks because they feel a little too blocky in my hands, and I prefer a single stack magazine but that is something I can work around.

What is everyone's CCW of choice?

General Airsoft Discussion / Rifled BBs
« on: April 06, 2010, 01:05:02 PM »
Due to my natural curiosity I am always trying to work out ways to increase the effective range of the airsoft. Some ideas that have come to mind is an increase in the weight of the BB, or a increase in FPS. These can't work due to the increase in risk. However has anyone ever heard of a rifled BB? I am picturing a 45-70govt or similarly shaped round (blunt tip, fat and long) that would be scaled down to 6mm. The round would have to be hollow, or made of a light weight plastic so it could be solid, to avoid an increase in the weight. Also hopup would not be a possibility, but instead rifling could be used.

Any ideas?

AEG's / M14 modifications
« on: March 23, 2010, 02:06:22 PM »
Alright here is what I am working with, I have a CA M14, shooting incredibly well, and in general making me happy. Now however I am looking to take it away from a normal M14 and converting it into a LMG variant of the M14. The only real reason for this would be to set me up to use high caps and auto winders for milsim type games.

I have two ideas for this

First take a M14 EBR kit, remove the telescoping rear stock and with either epoxy or a few well placed bolts secure a modified (shortened) M14 stock onto the rear of the EBR pistol grip area (think roughly where the . As long as it would be secured with minimal bracing I would think that the stock could even still be used with a smaller battery if not the full sized batteries I fit now.

The second option is to try and take a commercial m14 stock and modify it to fit my airsoft gun. This is going to be WAY more intensive for both labor and money, but it may be the only way to get the result I want.

What do you guys think? Also what are your recommendations for hopup, barrel length (it's the match length m14 now) and sights?

Airsoft Items FOR SALE / SOLD
« on: January 18, 2009, 06:50:18 PM »
I am selling my Steyr Aug A2 airsoft gun made by Echo 1. I am selling it for eighty bucks because I just don't want it anymore. I ship for the Navy in under thirty days so I don't want to worry about getting it taken care of. It is straight black, and I have a scope and five mags (two highs and three mids) for it. There is no battery and no foregrip, that is the only down side.

I am firm in my price, but there is a few things I would be willing to trade for. I want anything for the AK74, though mostly just mags, and side saddle rails. Also I would consider anything general gear wise (radios, goggles, cammies etc)

Make me an offer, I want to get rid of this thing as fast as possible!

Steyraug556@gmail.com is the best way to get ahold of me.

{EDIT}

I forgot to mention that I also have the Echo AUG silencer. Its not a barrel extension, or anything of the sort, its just a shroud and something that looks cool.

General Airsoft Game Discussion / Casa Grande Airsoft
« on: June 17, 2008, 01:16:06 AM »
HI everybody, first i want to start out by saying that its 1 in the morning so If i am not the most literate and legible I am terribly sorry, but this is the first chance I have had to get around to this.

I live in Casa Grande and the problem with airsoft here is that there isn't enough players, yet from what I have seen reading the threads there isn't enough places to play in PHX that doesn't cost money. There is a solution here though, the area I play in is roughly 400-500 yards long by 200-300 yards wide, with some dense brush, 2/3 (depends on the exact area you play by) hills giving a commanding view of the area, and about 4 paths cut through the entire thing making awesome ambush points and whatnot. And the area I play in is only roughly an 8th of the available play area.

(I will have pictures posted soon too so you guys can see what I am talking about)

Now I know gas is a problem, I can't offer any other solution than carpooling with other players, but it will easily be worth it.

As for age restrictions I am not really picky, its all about the maturity of the player, but for the sake of protecting myself I would really appreciate all youngsters (under 15) wearing full face coverage. Also if your parents, for those youngers players, would stop in and chat for a few minutes (or better yet play with us) It would go a long way to establishing your right to play.

Fps would be limited to under 400 with the exception of snipers which I can't really determine the reasonable FPS or range restriction of because I don't have any experience with them, so that would be left up to a general consensus.

Also I am personally extending the invitation to the Rebel Union guys to come down and play with us some time.

Tell me if you are interested and I will start setting dates when I get enough interest sparked. I will also try to offset the dates so as not to interfere with any other games.

Hope to see you guys out there

Lee
