I would suggest you browse thru AA, there is a wealth of info posted to the various areas of AA by some very knowlegable airsofters that will help you in your quest of what you need...

But you must do most, if not all of your own research and have a generous supply of money...

Visit some of the airsoft fields and shops, watch, listen and learn, above all be mature, repectful and you will find many of your answers...

I am not sure that I have heard airsoft guns that go BOOM, and be sure that I know the difference in the sound an airsoft gun makes and a BOOM, don't watch too many videos, look, learn and listen in person...

What you seem to be saying is that is what you have been doing, (I call it kinda like little kids peeing in the park in the dark), if so you are crapping on the reputation of the sport of airsoft and bringing down the fine serious players on AA...

You are putting youself in the classification of JAILBAIT, just a matter of time when the local law enforcment community answers a citizens call of armed people all blacked out in a park...
Now my friend that will only spill over onto the legit airsoft communitys reputation in a very bad way...

I think you are misunderstanding him.  I agree with what he is saying.  I'm sure most of us had been in a situation where we were playing with buddies in a park at night with Walmart toys.  He's obviously stated that he DOESN'T want to do that... so it actually serves as a compliment to the AA community that we DON'T play in games of that sort.

I know I said boom. But instead of the sound of the regular spring airsofts I meant the ones that sound more like actual gunfire from a distance. And the airsoft at night was a one time thing. Just for fun one night. Kinda like firing off fireworks on the fourth even though they are illegal.

I am in no way saying im a professional or am trying to give the pros a bad name. This was years ago and it was just saying im not an idiot type post.

With that said I appreciate the posts and responses and I respect them just fine. I just am trying to tell those people that dont know is that I have done some research. I dont know everything but who does really. There are many that know more than me and I do respect what they say.

This whole thing was basically a Hi im here and im interested Im looking for all the help anyone can give. Advice, places to shop and more.

Anyways does anyone have an opinion on that G36?

Also found another one AEG on here for around 100.
Tell me what ya think?

There are games at Fort Adobe most Sundays, a number of the AA members play there... Google Fort Adobe, Phoenix, AZ for more info as to location hours info...

If you're looking for realism (and a bang, instead of the telltale AEG noise), gas blowback rifles are the way to go; that's all I run, unless something terrible happens to all my GBB's, and I have to fall back to my old Thompson (which has never happened).  For a starter GBB, the WE G36 is IMO a great platform, because it is inexpensive (for a GBBR), easy to maintain, and very light for those long ops and whatnot.  I bought mine when they first came out a year ago, and have used it almost every time I go out and it hasn't failed me yet!

I was looking into this and I dont know if they are more cost efficient or not due to the fact that you have to pay for the gas each time. Batterys being charged to me are easy since I have free electric at my place. Thats why I was going to start with the AEG's but I will check into them sometime soon. Tell me more about them if you wish though.

The polarstar system is magnificent if you are looking for the absolute top of the line in airsoft tech, but if you're looking for the sensation of the rifle gently kicking into your shoulder, and the bolt locking back at the end of the mag, GBB ftw lol.  In terms of gas, it isnt expensive.  I get 2 bottles of camp-stove propane (green gas) at walmart for about $6, and that usually lasts me about 4-6 months of random matches, and the testing I do on the WA M4 I'm building.  The only issue you will have with propane is that it doesnt have the silicon added like green gas does, but there is an easy fix.  If I find that a mag won't hold pressure, I put a bit of heavy duty silicon lubricant in through the fill valve, and after allowing a few minutes for the silicon to work its way into the seals, they're tight as the day they came out of the factory!

If you want to, I might be trying to organize a random match sometime soon.  I can let you compare between electric and gas while we're out that day so you can get some experience and trigger time with both =)
