Emerson Tactical FAST Helmet
« on: June 07, 2012, 01:14:56 PM »
Hey guys,
So for the review today I thought I'd do it on a fairly new peice of kit I got. It's the Emerson Tactical FAST Helmet Type B. I bought it in tan and I have to say I think it is one of the best peices of equipment I've purchased. Although it is not for the faint of wallet, it is worth buying if you want a good, lightweight helmet.

I have a huge head, and the helmet fits perfectly because there is removable padding EVERYWHERE. It also comes with extra padding just to make sure the customer has the perfect fit. There is a dial on the back, similar to a biking helmet that when you twist it one way, it gets bigger, but the other way it gets smaller. So once again, they had the big picture in mind and it seems like their goal wasn't to make a good helmet, but to make a good helmet that fits the customer.

If I had to guess, I'd say it weighs around 2-2.5 pounds. It has a built in NVG mount, so you can mount a Go-Pro with the proper accessories, or maybe a prop night-vision set. It has rail attachments on the side so you can mount maybe a flashlight if your gun dosent have rails. One of the parts I absolutely love is the fact that there is tons of Velcro all over this thing. Also, keep in mind we are talking about the Type B and not Type A which has less Velcro. My personnel set-up for patches is one regular and one reversed USA patch and one 9/11 patch.

The body is a nice plastic that combines lightweight plastic with the versatility of metal. It fells smooth to the touch and has a dark earth finish to it. Both the A and B come in foliage, black, and dark earth.
Most helmets are heavy and hard to adjust and look bad most of the time. With the Emerson Tactical Helmet, it's very easy to adjust (I got mine done in a few seconds and it was way off when I started) and it looks awesome, especially when you make it your own by putting on patches and a Go-Pro or night vision prop. The ears are open to allow for a headset if you rock a radio in the feild. They also look great with the "Avengers" glasses. The ones pictured below are the rainbow ones. You can still aim down the sight, so no worrys there. It dosent restrict your field of movement I  your neck, mouth (once properly adjusted chinstrap), and dosent block your hearing.

So, in the end, I would truly recommend this as a valuable peice of gear. We all know how much that one hit on the head by a plastic hatred sphere going at 450 feet per second hurts. There is tons of room for customization  and it will make you feel really cool. I also recommend the SDEU vest with this helmet. It looks amazing together. If you have that kind of cash to spend on gear and not on that one certain motor or handgrip, get this helmet. They also look great with the "Avengers" glasses. The ones pictured below are the rainbow ones.

RECCOMENDATIONS:
Sdeu Vest
Avengers Glasses
M3 flashlight
Laser
Go Pro w/ NVG mount
Blinded out patches

Thanks for reading my review guys, and if there's anymore questions, go ahead and PM me.
