Spring pistol recommendations
« on: June 02, 2005, 09:27:12 AM »
I'm looking to get a cheap spring pistol as a backup to my AEG (Newbie just starting out, can't really afford a gas pistol for just a backup gun right now). Didn't see much about springs in the newbie or gear guides.

Yes, I know the drawbacks on springers, but to me the drawbacks of not having a backup weapon at all are far higher.

Looking to stay under 50$, and i'm also curious if the same styles in spring pistols are available in gas so I don't have to change out my holster at a later date.

Thanks

Which adds up to almost 100$.

At the moment that's money i'm putting into an AEG. That's a good recommendation once I get more cash ahead tho, thanks.

Best reccomendation for a spring pistol...dont buy it.  Get an AEG and buy some extra mags for it.  They are useless in a game.  Buy an extra mag or two instead.

JT has a package special where you get three cans of green gas and a non blow back walter PPK for a total of like $40 (after taxes).  This is a much better option than buying a springer and it's within your $50 budget.  :)

Sorry.  I don't think he got the gist of what you were saying.  I figured we needed another angle of approach to save him the horrors of having a springer.  ;)

someone sent me this in a personal message:

"don't get a springer. You have to cock them every time you shoot"

WHY couldn't you guys have mentioned this to me? It's not like I can walk into an airsoft store and know this, and it's not mentioned on the forums because everyone and his brother that's used one before already knows it.

too late now tho, *sigh*

Are you being serious?  Because even the least bit of research into spring pistols would have revealed that they are single shot only.  Everyone and his brother may not have used one before, but yes, they have read at least a little bit about them!

Yes, i'm dead serious.

You'd think that would have been obvious, but in the info I read through it was never mentioned.
