Slightly off topic, but is there a good reason why white lithium is the standard gear grease? a moly based lube seems more appropriate to me, being a gear to gear high pressure mesh, or possibly something like Lucas Red and Tacky to maintain better adhesion.

Moly is too thick to adequately lube in a high speed, small gear environment. It also has a tendency to be pressed out in a tight mesh <-- this is different than a high pressure mesh.

Yeah, all caps is pretty harsh for my eyes. I have a headache after writing that.

Anyways, Discount, are your $20 MS2 slings real or replicas?

IT MAKES IT SOMEWHAT HARDER TO TELL WHAT PEOPLE ARE TALKING ABOUT WHEN THEY USE ALL CAPITAL LETTERS AND AVOID PUNCTUATION AND PARAGRAPH BREAKS. GIVING PEOPLE AN INCENTIVE TO BUY THINGS IS ALWAYS GOOD. GIVING THEM A LARGER INCENTIVE TO BUY MORE THINGS IS ALSO GOOD. THEREFORE, HAVING A 'POINT', A.K.A. RAFFLE TICKET TYPE OF THING, IS A GOOD IDEA FOR EITHER A. EACH PURCHASE OR B. EACH ITEM ON THE LIST. GIVING A POINT MAXIMUM MIGHT MAKE IT MORE FAIR FOR THE PERSON JUST LOOKING FOR A SINGLE ITEM INSTEAD OF TRYING TO OUTFIT SEVEN GUNS AT ONCE. A ONE POINT MAXIMUM IS TOO LOW IF YOU ARE TRYING TO INCREASE THE AMOUNT OF BUSINESS YOU ARE DOING AS IT REMOVES THE INCENTIVE TO BUY LOTS OF STUFF INSTEAD OF JUST ONE THING. ABOUT THE ACCESSORIES SUCH AS THE ACOG AND FLASHLIGHT. ALTHOUGH IT INCREASES THE VALUE OF YOUR PRIZE AND THEREFORE THE POTENTIAL COST IN THE COST BENEFIT ANALYSIS OF THE RAFFLE IT ALSO INCREASES THE PERCEIVED VALUE OF THE PRIZE AND SO MAY IN TURN BENEFIT YOU MORE. WHEN SETTING UP A RAFFLE TO HELP DRUM UP BUSINESS YOU SHOULD ANALYZE THE ACTUAL COST OF THE ITEM YOU ARE RAFFLING OFF AND COMPARE THAT TO THE INCREASE IN INCOME THAT YOU EXPECT FROM THE RAFFLE. WILL YOU BE ABLE TO BREAK EVEN BY RAFFLING IT OFF? WILL YOU MAYBE EVEN MAKE SOME MONEY? YOU MIGHT TRY RAFFLING OFF SEVERAL ITEMS INSTEAD OF JUST ONE, MAYBE A FEW CHEAPER ITEMS AS WELL AS THE GUN OR EVEN JUST THE CHEAPER ITEMS AS IT WOULD INCREASE THE CHANCES OF ANY ONE PERSON WINNING SOMETHING AND POTENTIALLY YOUR ACTUAL COST FOR THE RAFFLE.

Also: Is it safe to swap out the connectors on my Blue Brick Smart charger (For my NiMH's) to work with my batteries after I swap out the connectors?

It's safe, just don't do it while the charger is plugged in! Make sure you get the polarity right, also.

There's also the right-hand side field at contreras. The right-hand side is posted "No Shooting", as it is too close to the B&B. This rule only pertains to firearms, however. So you're going to be safe there.

what can you tell me about your weapon light and holosight?  particularly branding, nobody sells an EOTech for $100

EOTech is ACM clone, like kyo said. (Red-dot that looks cool, basically) It's also currently SPF.

The light is a costco-special tac-light. Works pretty well, actually, uses cree4 tech according to the packaging.

Be careful, there's also a real steel shoot going on there on Saturday.

Is the firearm ban lifted?

A. Will be by Saturday.

B. If not, the same ban includes air rifles and gas guns.

//EDIT//

Yes, it's been lifted.

A ranger drove up on us and drove right by, must not have been too big a deal.
I've been out with campfires during bans (that I didn't find out about until after the trip) and had rangers say nothing, but I've also been out airsofting when they DID mention it, and asked us to stop (Luckily, we were all but packing up to leave anyways).

well thanks for the heads up AX..... on a serious note, that is something we didnt even think about. hopefully this issue is resolved by Sept's game.

I didn't even notice that it included "air rifles and gas guns" until I was checking to see if the shooting ban had been lifted in light of the recent rains. The restriction of air rifles and gas guns is normally reserved for the areas where Eagles are nesting, while they are there (copper basin is NOT in the area that eagles generally nest). They are currently out surveying and deciding whether to lift/reduce the bans. "Should" be gone by Thursday according to the email I received; that is, unless they find some huge tinder-pile completely covering the forest.

If I see another ban go up while a game is being planned, I'll try to give a heads-up. lol.

The next time you guys come up, take a look through the prescott national forest page's current fire regulations.

As of the time of this game, there was a fire ban in effect which prohibited the use of "air rifles and gas guns", which the rangers up here have determined inclusive of airsoft guns. http://www.fs.fed.us/r3/prescott/news/2011/06-27-2011-enhanced-fire-restrictions.shtml

I don't want snyone getting run off the fields by rangers after driving a few hours. A fine/imprisonment is pretty unlikely, but being told to leave would be pretty unfortunate for all involved after the amount of time and effort you put into getting here. Also, it might leave the airsoft community showing in a bad light in the eyes of the local forestry folk, and that's not good for anyone either.

Another thing with the grips: Does anyone know where I can get some cheaper ones locally, I have a game soon and I need those grips quickly.

a we 1911 can be run without grips.
