I'm a little confused here.  Isn't the AA rule that minors can attend so long as they have a guardian and both sign the waiver?

Because, and correct me if I'm wrong, that guardian is supposed to be a legal guardian and not just your 18yr old friend.

It has happened before, but not with any kind of regularity that some minors would like.

There is also the rule that allows for minors to be sponsered by an older player.

Well, if one of these junior guys was willing to come to a few games, and let us get to know him, I would be willing to sponsor him.  I'm sure i'm not the only one either.  Don't get your hopes up though guys, i'm in Afghanistan for a long while yet.

Yeah, you're pretty close to the only one. Airsoft is dangerous and being nice in such a litigious society could be costly.

isn't that the purpose of the waivers?  To negate such a possibility?

Waivers are about as strong in this state as wet toilet paper.

Don't take this as me doubting you Vince, I'm just making a statement.  I've heard that exact same statement in every single state, county, town I've lived in.  "Well I heard...." or "Well, I remember this one guy...." The waiver is a legally binding agreement.  It's not about whether the waiver is strong or not, it's about how broad and how generalized the waiver is.  If you're waiver doesn't cover the possibility of a certain type of accident, then you're screwed anyway.

The waiver for AA is a pretty tight waiver.  It doesn't leave any room for interpretation, and it even includes bodily injury and disease that may occur.  It specifically mentions the possiblity of negligence on behalf of AA, and that even then you can't sue.  If the waiver was so much toilet paper, then AA wouldn't have any games, it would only be a forum.

Again, not doubting you Vince, I just hear that same thing everywhere.  It's kinda like "don't drink the water!"

I've been to quite a few places like that. Don't get drinks with ice in those areas as well.

Well, I will update this thread tomorrow with further legal proof, but waivers, especially 'blanket' waivers, like these, are interpretable and not in any way bulletproof.

A level of protection, yes, but not protection complete.

Without being braggy, I have a level of certainty and by proxy, expertise in this narrow regard (and I mean as narrow as possible - just asked a lot of lawyers) and it has interested me in the past and I've asked a lot of people/researched this.

Furthermore, I missed this upon first read, but you say 'AA wouldn't have any games', well, the reason that AA games don't have any drama is because they ARE 18+ and people are responsible and honorable and are willing to reap the consequences of their actions. There haven't been any SERIOUS injuries to my knowledge, but the ones that are semi grievous have not seen the light of a court because the ones so effected know that it's their fault, and they deal.

well, i'm very happy to know you didn't just spout that line without some evidence or prior experience.  I'm used to people just spouting nonsense.
