<br />Well the guy lives right here in Phoenix, so drop him a line if there's anything you'd like to see first hand.

The guy who owns Assaultvest.com will be deploying for the sandbox very soon. I am going to be running it in his absence, and I also live in Phoenix (actually, NW Glendale).
Those vests are manufactured by one of the main companies which produces them for the IDF. The vests Eli sells on his site are original IDF vests, not commercial copies by other manufacturers or even the commercial version by other IDF manufacturing companies. These are, according to him, the Real McCoy.
Of all the vests, I like the A-10 the best since it's the most "open" yet still allows for carrying nearly everything you'd need. The Recon, MiniMi and others are good, but too "enclosed" for my tastes. Of these, I like the MiniMi the best since I carry a FAL.
My only gripe with these vests is the lack of being able to carry a Camelbak by design. One can put a bladder in the knapsack portion of the pack (in its side) and work it that way. Not ideal, but workable.
There are a lot of options in the gear arena, just depends on your mission, imagination and budget.
