AZSarge, I got the smoke green from Brandee at Diamondback Tactical. I have the armor panels and hard plates so I just had to buy the carrier, they have a deal going on the carriers right now for $499.00. Just went over there this morning and got the guided tour and I must say, I'm impressed. You have to be military to take the "tour" and it was cool. Not only the gear, but the hot chick with sweats and no panties showing off the gear was a MAJOR bonus...  [}:)]

The guy who owns Assaultvest.com will be deploying for the sandbox very soon.  I am going to be running it in his absence, and I also live in Phoenix (actually, NW Glendale).

Those vests are manufactured by one of the main companies which produces them for the IDF.  The vests Eli sells on his site are original IDF vests, not commercial copies by other manufacturers or even the commercial version by other IDF manufacturing companies.  These are, according to him, the Real McCoy.

Of all the vests, I like the A-10 the best since it's the most "open" yet still allows for carrying nearly everything you'd need.  The Recon, MiniMi and others are good, but too "enclosed" for my tastes.  Of these, I like the MiniMi the best since I carry a FAL.

My only gripe with these vests is the lack of being able to carry a Camelbak by design. One can put a bladder in the knapsack portion of the pack (in its side) and work it that way. Not ideal, but workable.

There are a lot of options in the gear arena, just depends on your mission, imagination and budget.

Thanks for the info Tim.  I really want the MiniMi vest, and as soon as I can scrape up the coin for it I'll be getting one.

Why wait? :)

Depending on timing and what's going on, I am more than willing to pop over to an event and load the truck up with gear...I've got a decent number of BHI STRIKE pouches in, IDF vests, Eagle holsters, High Speed holsters, BDUs (got some Tru-Spec MARPAT left, not much...mostly pants, some medium-regular desert jackets), Wellco Desert Combat boots.

Think of it as the Ice Cream Truck for geardos.

If you ever decide to do that make sure you let us know.  I would make a special trip to the ATM before the game just incase something I see something you have that I just can't live without.

Tim, you'll have to watch for the FAL shooters get together annoucements too if you're not already.  I'm sure you'd have no problem selling some of your wares there as well.

Harley,

Yep, been a FalFiles member since...a long time.  Several other boards, too.

Turd: Was wondering why they had that "prior service only" policy in place.  Their warehouse is impressive.  I could not possibly comment on anyone working for them, as that would be unprofessional. :)

Finally, have a prototype on the way of a new assault vest I am having designed and made.  Don't know price yet, but it's completely PALS-based and has integrated Camelbak/hydration pocket.  It's gonna be sweet.  I don't know the dimensions of airsoft magazines, but the pouches being designed for it will fit AK/AR/G3/FAL mags (for the real guns)...with the same pouch.  No need to buy multiple pouches (unless you run an SMG).  I am looking to see what it would take for these pouches, however the Blackhawk MP5 MOLLE pouches would likely work, since it's PALS compatible, too.  Once I get the prototype, I'll try and post some pictures (or at least a link to some on my site).
