BDU Preference
« on: December 19, 2004, 06:57:41 PM »
What would you guys reccomend? Three or six color BDUs?
I need to know which to get first, because someone offered to pick me up some. Also, which is used most common in game?

Well, it is all up to you.  But I will clarify.  6 color desert was used in Desert Storm and since then has been phased out.  They dont use 6 color anymore.  Now the military uses the 3 color desert, it doesnt stick out as much and blends in better in the desert invironments (all my personal opinion there).  So get what you would like to fashion your self.  You aked what do most people wear?  Well most people wear the 3 color desert.  I say about 95% of us use the 3 color.   Hope this helps

Really, it depends on who you're playin with and the field requirements if any.  Of the desert patterns, I prefer the desert digital.  To play it safe you should buy one pair of everything though.  Heheh.

Check Ebay for Marpat Patterns, though I would imagine the local surplus store may have a set - ebay just might be the better deal.

They have MARPAT at Laradas Army Surplus... It's on Extenstion and a few streets north of Broadway.  I use woodland because Desert Camo just doens't seem to work as well.  I've seen tiger stripe working extremely well though, I may pick up a pair of Tigerstripe BDUs soon.

I dont like Laradas any more.  They are way over priced for surplus items.  I like US Surplus on 35th Ave. and Osborne.

In the past few games I have had great luck with simply brown (or Coyote as all the cool guys are calling it).  Even in Prescotts greener enviroment the tan/brown blended in fine and I never had a problem with it. Rick

I have noticed that in the desert, woodland works best(makes you look like a bush), and in the woods desert works best(becuase it matches with pine needles on the floor, and becuase of the sun it makes you stick out less).

When I play up in Lindon by are cabin my brother and I found that Desert Tiger stripe works the best. Not that much different then Payson except alot more burned out trees in Lindon. I own digital desert, digital woodland, US woodland, woodland tigger stripe, and desert tigger stripe.  8)

Our team uniform is DTS.  It works great in all terrain, even the greener ones (as lon as you stay low).

If I had tons of money, I'd buy Tropentarn.
