last year it was a gift for a boy and one for a girl. how can we be sure that everyone isnt buying for just a boy or just a girl? shouldnt the gifts be leveled out so its all not for one gender?

It's boy OR girl.  All the previous years we let those doing the donations decide and it has come out pretty even with just a minor lead by the boys.  If we end up with any cash donations we usually purchase for the side with the deficit as well.  Quite often we ask for 1 gift for a boy or girl and end up getting 1 for each though.

Hey Kiley, think youll get a chance to check the water level as the game gets closer?
Yeah I can probably get a eye on it the Thursday before the event.

As Vince said "His loss diminishes us".  His memory truly enriches us all as well.  Ron did so much for this sport, for the community, and for all the lives he touched.  My heart breaks for his family, team mates, and friends.  He was one of the kindest people I have had the pleasure to interact with and  my life is richer for having known him.  My thoughts and prayers continue to be with his loved ones.

I think I am up to date with 34.  Undecided bucket includes those who have not specified a uniform or are abile/willing to swap sides to even colors out.  Keep those RSVP's coming, it really helps us to figure out how much non-playing admin staff we need to allocate to help things run smoothly.

Confirmed attending, able to field either color to even sides:

OP: Red Sleigh Down: Battlefield Wonderland

TAC is proud to present the 8th annual Operation Red Sleigh Down on Saturday, December 8th 2012.  Operation Red Sleigh Down is a benefit game that raises awareness about children in need this holiday season.  Near the holiday season each year, we gather to play an organized airsoft event and fill a car with new unwrapped toys and then donate those toys to the USMC Toys For Tots program.  Please consider coming out, helping those in need, and having a good time with us while you are at it.

To see what the community was able to donate last year as a group visit the below link:
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y25/gracefuldragons/Snapbucket/69B94B20.jpg

Scenario:
The group know as the People's Occupation and Liberation Expedition (POLE) has sent a sizable group into Northern Tanistan in search of a downed supply plane.  This supply plane was carrying support and relief supplies north for all the good girls and boys when it went down over a remote desert area.

Tanistan has search parties combing the crash area and attempting to secure the area and the supplies from POLE.

POLE and Tanistan forces now fight for control of the border area in a search for the missing supplies.

Admission
This event is by admission only.  Your admission is unwrapped toys with an equal or greater value of $10.  Cash donations are discouraged, but if you forget your items a suggested cash donation of $15 will allow the staff to purchase items in your behalf when dropping the donations off.

Rules
General Rules:
Everyone MUST Read

Special Note
Radios are not required for this event, but are HIGHLY recommended due to how the objectives are spread out and the play is fluid.  Please also note this event is being planned as a MILSIM Battlefield type event with a fun twist.  This means that we expect limited return trips to cars and staging areas.  Please be prepared to carry everything on your person that you need to play and stay on your feed, including plenty of water and extra ammunition.

RSVPS
Please RSVP  by name only (No +## Ex. quadro +1) If others are coming and you are their primary form of contact with the forum please list a name for them.  For example, Kileyhaz & ChanceR is preferable to Me +1.  Thanks.

Local Games Listing/RSVP / Re: Operation Spartan 30 Nov - 2 Dec 2012

Just linked the info to my guys and will try to get commitment levels by the end of this week.  Always really interested in these but for some reason we always seem to catch wind just before they happen and have a tough time getting free of home life.

By the way more then 1/2 of us cannot seem to get the website to resolve for us when trying to see the forum and registration info.  Have tried on 4 or 5 machines and at least 2 different ISPs.  The message I get right now on Comcast through my Firefox client is:

All you amateur film makers and whack jobs.  Take note.  I'll be the first one to turn you in if you decide one day to pull some stupid shit like this guy did.

While they did not cite whether his RPG was an airsoft replica it's dumbasses like this that continue to put our sport at risk.  Keep your shit covered up in public.

Event completely full?  Had some folks asking about it and the info I find on the TAC site would indicate this game has been on lock down for a few days.

Get Firefox can't find the server at www.combatchallenge.org

I have tried on 3 separate machines with the same results.  I think our carrier in the office is Saavis and at home it's Comcast.

Ron and family you are in our thoughts and prayers.  I pray that all goes well!

Echo this 100%!  As has been mentioned Ron is a wonderful friend, mentor, role model, and all around good person.  He is in my thoughts and prayers and I wish nothing but the best for him and his family.

Local Games Listing/RSVP / Re: Modern Battlefield Papago - 28 APR 12
« on: April 30, 2012, 06:33:11 AM »
To those who thought they missed the LC intro, don't worry. It never happened becuase we used all of our permitted time on base playing airsoft, we simply ran out of time for the breif and needed to be off base.   We will do a dedicated platoon meeting in the next few weeks. We will go over the important factors that will help our platoon at the event. So keep a look out for that, and Mikey is also going to create an LC thread for those going to the event, so we can discuss matters there as well.

Thanks for the update Mad Sarge!

Totally missed this post until this morning.  I'm polling the DH guys and am hoping we can make it out to participate in the after action LCXI orientation.  If not I'll follow up with Mad Sarge and Airsofter1 but I think they know what our goals are ;)

Full disclosure, I have no vested interest in baby sitting any arguments here my admission is long since secured. I just wanted this thread available for those who might not be on the OPLCMSS email lists or know the annual schedule.  I'll let the community and mods sort 'thread shit' out.

Onto the topic at hand.  This is from the OPLCMSS facebook site:
Quote
OK troops, LC-XI nees to wrap or it'll hit over 800~1000. So if you still want in, please do it before the 15th of Apr. (may shut down before that). All combat vehicles MUST BE PRE-APPROVED for safety and etc. (via e mail).

Windows of opportunity are closing fast...
