General Airsoft Discussion / H&K cutting down on non-Umarex aegs?
« on: July 25, 2013, 05:17:37 PM »
Was searching on airsoftgi for pricing on an mp5 and noticed airsoftgi had practically none. Only the H&K licensed Umarex guns are left. Same thing on Evike. All G-36 models seem to be off the market too.... I guess H&K is finally cutting down?

Gonna be hard for me to find g36 parts for my not running gun now I guess.

Maybe my g36 and mp5 will increase in value?  :o

I'm sure some of you have seen this.... From Echo 1's Facebook page, all posted in the past few days:

"Why is the safety and required orange tip the most hated thing in Airsoft?"

"Why do some of you remove your orange tips from your Airsoft guns? That can be dangerous to you and the sport we all love."

"We hear this all the time. 'The Orange tip gives away my position' Think of it as a player name on a video. Why do you want to hide? How can a little safety precaution give away your position but a red or blue arm band does not?"

Meanwhile half of the pictures they post are of players with black-tipped guns....
Is being located in Kommiefornia rubbing off on them?

Gas Powered Guns / KWA m9 PTP hammer issues... advise?
« on: March 27, 2013, 12:03:50 AM »
Hey y'all. I'm referb-ing this m9 I got for cheap, but it's got a few problems, this being a big one. The hammer catches back when you cock it by hand but if you pull it fast it won't catch. This also causes full auto fire occasionally.....

I had the thing open recently and the internals didn't look too worn, but I figure other people have dealt with similar problems, so before I open it up again thought I'd ask. That way at least I'll have a few things to look for when I do open it back up.

Video of it misbehaving:

Real Firearms / Any experience or opinions on Berettas?
« on: December 31, 2012, 12:47:39 AM »
Might be picking up a 96 soon..... (.40 cal)
I know the 9mm will stovepipe if you limp-wrist em, but bad technique is not gonna keep me away from a gun.
I figure a lot of you ex-military guys have experience with m9s.

Thanks.  8)

Found this video surfing the internet today. Apologies for anyone who's already seen it. I know this is airsoft related, but I didn't want to clutter up the real board. Now watch this youtube video. It's hilarious. A bit of tounge in cheek humor about airsoft n00bs. :D

Hey guys. I've been doing a lot of two-way radio research lately to school myself on radios. I'm a noob when it comes to radios and the like, but I've taken a few semesters of college physics and have been reading up on Wikipedia! Lol!

Now I've seen some radios that are advertised as "business" radios on ebay for decent prices but wasn't sure if the whole "business" thing made a difference. After digging around and looking up manuals I see that they have multiple programmable channels, each to one of many preset frequencies.... More specifically I'm talking about the Motorola XU2600 XTN. I found the 56 listed frequencies for the XU2600 and was hoping to cross reference these frequencies with the frequencies AA uses.  Is there a list of AA used frequencies somewhere? Are they standard FRS frequencies?

I know most people seem to have an Icom F4S and buy it from Red Dog "pre-programmed for AA channels", but I'm still searching around for alternatives and would also like to know a little more about the AA/FRS frequencies and such. I'm in no rush to purchase and am considering all radio options at this point. Til then I'll stick with my cheapo talkabout. Thanks all!

Accessories & Gear / MP-5 rigs.....
« on: March 20, 2012, 08:19:24 PM »
Sup guys. Bored and curious here....

I run an mp5 and have 5 mid caps. I'm thinking about buying 5 more, as 5 mags don't last me a 2.5hr game. I have a tri-mag pouch on my vest and store the other two in a drop leg pouch. If I get 5 more I'd be able to fit them on the drop leg pouch....

But I'm curious what other mp5 guys are using. How many mags? How do you have the pouches set up?

It seems like there are a lot more neat vests/rigs with m4/ak pouches built in but not too much for the mp5 guys like me...  :(

Feel free to post pics and whatnot!  ;D

Accessories & Gear / Scope eye relief questions.....
« on: February 06, 2012, 12:12:36 AM »
Alright guys. I'm planning on buying about a 4x magnification scope for my mp-5. If anyone is all like "its an smg y wud u do that?! derp!" I don't wanna hear it... I've got an 363mm tightbore etc.... 375fps w/ 0.25g's. It's a field gun.

Now my question is about eye relief. Most of the scopes I'm looking at either have an eye relief of around 3" or upwards of 10"... Now on an AR platform or a sniper, a 3" would be perfect, as you can get your eye closer or the scope further back on the rail. On a "scout" styled optic mount such as on a m14 carbine, or on a pistol, 10" or more is needed. I feel like the mp5 is in the awkward middle.... Around 6" or so from my eye to a scope. I don't want to get a scope with a too small of an eye relief which would give me a smaller picture, and I don't want too high of an eye relief and get a picture that moves a ton when I move my eye slightly.

Before someone calls out me for being anal, I'm an Optical Sciences major. Still learning, so school me if necessary. I haven't messed around with a ton of scopes, just know the principles behind them....

So I'm wondering if anyone here with a scoped mp-5 or g-3 has found a scope that works well. As of now I'm leaning towards getting a scope with a higher eye relief, but would appreciate any input.

Thanks!  8)

AEG's / Hop-up bucking upgrade ?'s
« on: January 19, 2012, 03:34:38 PM »
Sup guys. So I've been trying to read up on this, but haven't been getting too far..... So. I'm planning on upgrading my hop-up bucking to gain some accuracy, but I'm confused at all the different hardness types in all the different pretty colors..... Lol. But really. So help me out here. I was wondering if it depends on fps and bb weight. My cyma041 mp5 shoots 375fps with an m110, shooting  0.25g bbs through a 363mm 6.03 madbull tightbore. So with these mods, what type of bucking would you recommend? Thanks.

Prices are all OBO and do not include shipping.
I really need cash but I will trade for cool stuff so let me know what you got.

Message me on here or text at 602-471-six-nine-six-three

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
$20 Condor chest rig in OD green. It's in nice shape, really didn't airsoft hardcore after I bought it. Recently bought a new plate carrier so no use keeping this. Could probably throw some OD pouches in for a good deal. (Gadget pouch, dump pouch, multipurpose pouch...)
http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?cPath=30_596&products_id=34585&osCsid=c096a5393789f72733ea8bb1620cc4c1
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

$5 Made in China drop leg 3-mag pouch.
Matches BDU colors pretty well. Holds one m4/ak mag per pouch. Or 2 mp5 mags. Or a water bottle. Leg straps come off to put on a regular belt. It's in pretty nice shape. If you buy the battle belt I'll throw this in...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
$20 AAC Blackout 51t flashider.
I think these come stock on the Magpul PTS. Either way this is a really nice high quality flashider with almost no wear. Standard 14mm CCW threading.
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=7628
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

$40KWA M9 PTP parts gun. It shoots but barely, the slide and barrel are pretty damn worn. Was gonna fix it but the aluminum slide is just too worn. Everything is there and the frame is in good shape. Hammer sometimes doesn't catch on single action. You can probably get it shooting with a new outer barrel. Comes with no mags.

I have three mags for it, kinda worn but all feed and hold gas. Make offer.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
$80 - GBB Hi-Cappa 5.1" I do not know the brand, but it is a WE clone. It's full metal. Paint is decent and shows holster wear. Everything works like it's supposed to, even the grip safety. It's really freaking accurate and has adjustable hopup. It has a tactical grip in dark earth. I just dropped a "CQB Master" upgrade kit in it which works amazingly. Gas consumption is much better and kick has increased. The slide sometimes does not catch at the last round, but that's because of the higher strength recoil spring.
Here is the grip: http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?products_id=32995
Here is the upgrade kit: http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?products_id=34604
It comes with one working mag (no leaks at all) and one parts mag.
I'll also include the original springs, grip, and OD green drop leg holster.
$25 - 5 BRAND NEW D-Boys metal mp5 mid caps. Hold around 100 rds. They jam. I can't return them to Evike because I dissembled them to clean and lubricate with 100% silicone oil. I was using only non-bio, high quality Echo 1 0.25g bbs. I have neither the patience or the time to work on these, so I'm giving these up at half what I paid for them.....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

$25 for both- MARPAT pants. I have two pairs. One in digital woodland, the other digi desert. Both med/reg. Got these from my buddy who was issued them. Desert missing one button. Woodland have small hole in crotch and a belt loop ripped. I will be sewing though.... I am willing to trade for MARPAT or tactical pants but large/reg ~36/30.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
$5 - m120 spring. Came out of my stock CYMA 041 MP-5. Basically new. Just used in the backyard before I downgraded to an m110 for legal field use. The gun shot a consistent 410fps with 0.20g bbs with the stock barrel. Shot 430 with an m4 length 6.03mm barrel.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Non- airsoft parts:

*AR-15 parts are like new condition*

$15 - AR-15 carrying handle/rear sight for RIS rail. Don't know the brand, but it's really nice. Two peep hole sizes. Elevation and windage adjustments. Could totally be mounted on an airsoft gun.

$10 - AR-15 gas block/front site. Bayonet lug. Could most likely be mounted on an airsoft gun.

$10 - AR-15 RIS rail. Good quality except for mismatched screw. Screws through the hole in the carrying handle. Actual rail is in front of the handle, and you can still use iron sites. Made for M16A1 or ARs with no railed upper.

Note: Delta ring tool has already been sold.

I will ship for as cheap as I can. I live in Fountain Hills. I can meet you halfway.

AEG's / Replacement hop up chamber for CYMA mp5??
« on: November 10, 2011, 01:35:10 PM »
My second thread here... I'm trying to get all my gear together as I'm getting back into this sport..... I have a CYMA 041 mp5. The hopup adjustment is really lose. Cheap plastic. Stripped screw... You know... Typical chinese junk....

So. Does anyone know if they make aluminum hopup chambers for the CM 041? Or replacement hopup chambers at all? It's like there is no info out there for the CYMA 041. I can't even find out what kind of gearbox it has.

I've searched around and can't find anything specific. I don't know if its hopup chamber is shared with other CYMA models. Before I McGyver something up on my hopup I thought I'd ask....

AEG's / Finally time to ditch that crappy 8.4v battery.....
« on: November 08, 2011, 11:31:47 PM »
Hey ya'll. I'm not new to forums, but I'm new to this forum. And with my first post I'll be proposing to you all a question. I have tried the search bar, but I can't really narrow my search down enough.... (in before "use the search bar")

So..... Like the title says. I'm finally getting rid of the 8.4v that came with my CYMA 041 mp-5. Then gun shoots hot at a consistent 385, but the ROF has been getting progressively worse.

I'm planning on buying a 9.6v Ni-MH battery, but I'm not sure on brand or MaH. I was looking at a 3300Mah G&P and a 3000Mah Firefox, both the same price, so should I go with the higher Mah?

I'm also open to the thought of a Li-po, but I already have a smart charger. So if you would recommend a Li-po, convince me it's better.

Thank you all!  8)
