Advice time again! Best brands?
« on: April 02, 2005, 06:20:54 PM »
OK, it will probably be a few weeks before I can worry about it, but what are considered to be the best brands of gas pistol? Any particular brands/models to stay away from?

I have always had luck w/ KJW guns.  Seem to take high powered gasses well along with the beating that comes along w/ being used in the field.

Also to date the best GBB I have ever owned was a KWC Beretta Super Heavyweight.  Nothing could keep that thing from shooting.

I had a KSC glock that never worked quite right, and a TM Tac Master that broke when using green gas.

Rick, that is becuase TM guns can't handle green gas :).

KJW, and KWA are the best, in my opinion. This also depends on the model you want. By far, the KWA/KSC Glocks are the best in the glock field. Berettas, now those are kinda bleh. I have heard some good things about KSC(?) Berettas, but from my experience KJW Berettas SUCK HORRIBLY. 1911 models...now KJWs are okay, but are prone to ALOT of problems from what i'm seeing. It really depends on what you like.

Until you know first hand, don't put your advice in. I haven't had a single real problem with my KJW Para. I would stay away from the FMV though, for some reason they just seem to fuck up alot. Although, Airsofter1's hasn't seen any problems AFAIK.

If you want the best GBB, go with a WA, western arms makes the best GBB's hands down. They may be plastic, but the plastic is a very very dense composite and has a very metalic look and feel to it.

Yeah, that's true. I've had many handguns.. right now, I have a KJW I just got today, they're sturdy handguns by far. The KJW 1911's are.. well.. at first, when I got mine, it sucked so bad, it was unreal. After MAJOR arming up and fixing (about a week worth), it's one badass gun. The hopup isn't great at all, but it's ok. And the FMV's can obviously take redgas (that's what I had). The metal sucks, though. I sold it to my brother.. don't know if it was his fault, but he took it outside, and all I heard was "BAM! BAM! KLANK.. and that sound, my friend, is the sound of a KJW P.14 hammer soaring through the air.

For airsoft, get a glock. I can point out reasons why and why not, but.. Ian knows way more than I do. I've had 3, on my fourth and they're badass for airsoft.

HAHAHAHAHAHA   . Speak for yourself young man, everything I speak of i have experience in. Owned, and/or used everything I listed.

Your always bitching about your KJW. Maybe becuase its really not a KJW any more, a WA in a KJW body. My friends KJW 1911 had a plastic piece fly out of the ejection port that broke off a cylinder on the inside of the pistol <---that equals crap.

And, Busta.. from what I've ehard about yours, from people that have seen it, it's not the greatest at all. But the FMV's are sturdy after you lube (majorly) some of the internals.

Ugh. I beg to differ . .. The KJW M9 is a beast!! And im sure Christian can back me up on this one...I have had mine and it works flawlessly and event hough I have dropped it, its missing a spring, and just plain BEAT THE PISS OUT OF IT. So if you do want a tank of a gun get one!

It's kinda funny..I treat my pistol like shit, throw it, drop it, beat it against stuff, a couple hundred draws, and it's practically perfect. Christian actually purposefully dropped/threw his last weekend and he picked it up and used it the next game like it was nothing. My advice....Get a WA or something u can upgrade easy down the road. THe m9 series from KJW is a tough bargain to beat. At about 130 for a full Metal IA, its a good deal....Also I have heard from a friend of mine that the single stack 1911 from KJW is AWESOME, so far he says it resisted the 30ft drop test. Dont even ask!

I think there is some other kind of problem. I remember when we took anthony's pistol mag apart once, it had freakin cardboard in it or something! Try opening yours up Nate, maybe the Chinese slaves stuffed some yen in there or somethin, hahah.

Depends on what you want to spend. If you dont want to spend alot money on gun and upgrades get a KJW aka the disposable pistol.

But if you want something that you want high performance super Ferrari all metal upgrades, valves, springs, the whole nine yards. Western Arms is the gun for you. But they come with a high price $$ tag. Check out the new ones coming out on RR. go here http://www.renegaderecon.com/
and then click archive. Then click 1-10 and look on the right side of the page and you will see several Western arms news posts on there latest guns.

If you want something simple that can take a drop or kick. Average price $$ Stay reliable and get the job done the chevy KWA/KSC glocks are the way to go. Just stay away from the full auto sometimes they will wair and only fire full auto all the time. I have a Glock 17 KWA that I have had for 5 years and running. Gave it a spring and valve upgrade. And mine is just the standard plastic barrel and slide.
Airsoft atlanta is selling them for $119 with the metal slide and barrel. http://www.airsoftatlanta.com/gas.htm

If the glock does not intrest you then there is the new Marui's that are coming out. Just like the TM Hi-Capa 5.1's these guns are much more accurate than the glocks. However, they dont use Top green gas, and so its a trade of of accuracy and reliability instead of Raw power much Like an Olds Alero with a 4 cylinder.

At the risk of igniting a $h!t storm. I have never been a fan of the 1911 series guns. I am pretty sure I will go with an M9, or if I could find one, maybe a sigsaur. I love glocks but my real pistols are glocks so I don't want to risk any confusion about which one is which. The M9 is milsim correct and although it isn't as good a gun as the glock  I have always liked the M9.
