Anyone else glad?

So, for those of you that've been in a cave for the past month, the worlds BIGGEST atom smasher was test run today. And with big science comes...DOOMSDAY THEORIES. Apparently some German physicist thought that it hypothetically could create a micro black hole that would kill us all in 1/20th of a second. But don't worry, accordin to the European Organization of Nuclear Research, it is 100% safe because ALL of the operations the atom smasher performs are performed identically in the universe. So my question is, did anyone other than me and my history teacher stay up all last night because they were afraid of it?

I'll repeat my common consensus about the potential consequences:

Best Case Scenario: DINOSAURS MOTHERFUCKERS!! I WILL GET MY PULSE RIFLE AND TAKE OVER THE TIME WORLD WITH MY FUCKING NINJA DNA BRED DINOSAUR AND AN ARMY OF PIRATES!!!!!

Worst Case Scenario: OH Shi........__________

Middle ground scenario: The Swiss bite the dust.  Take that you non-commiting sons ofa bitches! Non-aggressive my ass!

All around a win win win.  Do it!

In all seriousness, we are going to either: Learn nothing, or learn something cool that will make scientists happy for a little while, then they will try to smash the smaller pieces together.  Esentially these scientists are like those kids who got Tonka trucks for their birthday, started smashing them together, found it was fun and wanted to know what was inside, broke them, was amused for a little bit at all the pieces, then started taking those pieces and smashing them together etc etc etc.

I forgot the date the LHC was going to be fired. I heard it yesterday on the news.
If we were to be sucked into a blackhole or scattered by stranglets I would have been sound asleep.

They haven't done the actual experiment.  All they did was fire the photon beams clockwise or counter clockwise, no colliding.  Our media hype at work my friends!

something like this was done in a book i read.  It was pretty good, and the analogy they used was some scientist standing over a button shrugging and saying "let's see what happens"
