Black Hawk Down (the game)
« on: July 28, 2002, 12:19:20 PM »
Hello all!  I thought you might like an update on a great game that took place here in Korea.  From the title I think you can guess the theme...

*Black Hawk Down*

The game was run just like the movie.  The event lasted two days and the organizers even kept the times just like the real event (overnight battle).  The U.S. Forces were dressed in 3 or 6 color desert while the Somali Forces wore woodland, tiger, or black.  The Korean version of a pickup truck is called a Bongo or a Porter (Daewoo or Hyundai), and they even used a couple of them as Hummers for the U.S. convoy.  There was a Delta team that was organized to capture the Somali leaders, and of course the Rangers were there for force protection.  In all, there were about 200 people that showed, most of which were on the Somali side.  To the Koreans, this is pretty much a standard game.  There is supposed to be another one very shortly.  I would have pictures, but my digital camera was apparently stolen by an airline worker.  That's how it goes...

Later,

The Crow
