Foam Rockets
« on: May 17, 2015, 03:45:46 PM »
I know several of you have been waiting for this. (several of you probably don't give a hoot) :P
But either way, I'm almost ready to launch the kickstarter campaign for the Foam Rockets many of you have seen me using at local games.

Right now I'm looking for feedback before the campaign goes live. If you care to read through it and let me know what you think, any changes you think I should make, etc, I'd really appreciate it.

I plan to go live next week. Wednesday maybe?

That picture made me laugh.  Page looks good though.  Mind if I ask who you're working with for the molds?  My dad's been working for mold makers for like 20 years and probably knows most if not all the shops in town (assuming it's in town).

I think I'd also try to work that second video in a bit earlier in your details.  Before the pledge levels, etc.

When I was taking pictures, to my left a box of rockets, to my right a blank canvas.... I couldn't resist. haha

Fiesta Plastics, in Mesa, is who I am working with for the injection molding.

That's a good idea about the second video, I'll try and find a better spot for that.

Used these rockets at Lion Claws, they work well.  Here are my observations.

  • Fly very straight and accurate, minimal wobble effect, very balanced flight arch. Repeatable placement shots are achievable.
  • Excellent seal face allows good compression during propulsion.
  • Rocket is very hardy, I never was worried it would become compromised. IE I didn't have to worry about damaging during front loading with a ram rod and the tail fins don't degrade with usage.
  • Orange color makes them easy to find after use.

If you are looking for a rocket with great performance and that will last over time, this is a good option for you.

Don't be an Escalefter.

Backed. These things work great, and I hope you get fully funded.
