Other items for sale... / Juki DNU-1541S Walking Foot Sewing Machine
« on: January 21, 2017, 08:48:02 PM »
Upgrading the shop a bit.
Used this machine for 10 years and works like a dream. I bought it from Ed Reichart in phoenix and they still sell the exact make and model today.

This is a walking foot straight stitch machine for heavy duty sewing. I have made everything on this machine, gun bags, vests, pouches and backpacks. It has been my main sewing machine for many years but I have kept it in tip top shape.

The 1541S has the safety clutch that keeps you from grenading the internals if it does something wrong.

This comes with the knee lift, table, clutch motor, many bobbins and extra needles.

I would like to get $1100.
Trades interested in:
Machined AR lower from reputable brand + cash.
Trijicon Optics + cash.

PM me for details.
Located in Chandler by Gilbert rd and 202 san tan.

Looks like my picture links broke, until I can get this fixed, please search the net for assembly and dis-assembly instructions.

Time to clean out the piles of old projects.

I take paypal or cash, no trades. Shipping is $10 for anything big and $5 for small items, I can meet at the gearbox for pickup.

First up 2 multicam packs, lightly used but the suspension is new. The shells were part of another project that went a different direction.

$40 each SOLD

AK chest rig with OD harness. Each pouch holds 2 AK or M4 mags and the side pouches hold grenades. This was used once.

$40

This chest rig was a prototype for a competition shooter to carry 4 M4 mags and 4pistol mags(33rnd glock) with shot shells on the front. The shell carriers are a bit tight but still usable, The M4 mags are held in place with kydex inserts and the pistol mags are held with elastic. Used 2 times.

$60

This is a collection of pouches all $15 each:
2x Ranger green MP5 triple mag pouches spaced for 4 molle colums, each has elastic retention. Made of 500D cordura. The customer wanted a different configuration, these are perfect and unused.

2x OD Kydex M4 mag pouches, brand new just sitting around the shop.

Emdom Admin panel coyote tan, fairly new.

Multicam AK 6pack, holds 6 mags with velcro flaps, extra deep. Lightly used.

There is quite the over abundance of multiple WTB threads. Make one and update it just like a for sale thread. The rules for the classifieds area are the same for WTB topics: meaning, one consolidated post and no bumping before 7 days.

Instead of being nice and fixing things for you, I will from now on delete your new WTB if you have an old WTB within 4 pages of the first page.

General Airsoft Discussion / Cyber Bullying
« on: May 28, 2010, 11:55:16 PM »
I encourage everyone to read this:

http://www.azag.gov/messages/CyberBully ... h2007.html

Quote
Cyberbullying

The Internet continues to explode in popularity among young people. More and more teens every day keep in touch through instant messaging, social networking sites (such as myspace.com) and cell phone text messaging. Unfortunately, this electronic forum has not only given sexual predators unprecedented access to our children, it has become a new, incredibly potent and potentially toxic, method of spreading schoolyard gossip, hateful statements, lies, threats and harassment.

Cyberbullying is highly varied and hard to define. At its core, it is sending or posting derogatory or hateful material on the Internet with the intent to harm another. Cyberbullying can be defamatory to a group, a team, a race or target a single victim. Bullies employ any or all cyber communications, including posts to social networking sites, chat rooms, email, instant messaging and blogs, to harass, threaten, spread lies or distribute embarrassing pictures. The Internet gives bullies a worldwide audience for taunting their victims while maintaining some anonymity.

Cyberbullying is no joke, although it often starts that way. Because of the vast reach of the Internet, it has far greater impact and can cause much more emotional damage than the same statements scrawled in alleys or on bathroom walls. Damaging words and pictures once posted are nearly impossible to remove. Cyberbullying messages often contain threats of violence, which can constitute a crime. Violent threats and inflammatory statements in cyberspace can turn into real world attacks. Last October, a racist flier posted on myspace.com sparked a fight between a white student and several Native American students at Westwood High School in Mesa.

My Internet Safety presentation now includes a short video about cyberbullying called “You Can’t Take It Back.” After visiting many Arizona middle schools, I am convinced that cyberbullying is a rapidly growing problem, infecting almost every school in our State. Parents and teachers can find this and other videos at http://www.netsmartz.org.

To promote safe use of the Internet, I offer the following tips for parents and teachers:

    * Talk to teens about what they are doing on the Internet, what sites they visit and who they chat with.
    * Keep a record of any rude and harassing emails, text messages or postings, but do not respond.
    * File a complaint with your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or cell phone company about any cyberbullying messages.
    * If the cyberbully attends the same school, inform administrators and school resource officers.
    * If the cyberbullying involves threats of violence, coercion or intimidation, call the police.
    * If a Web site is defaming or mocking a person or group, contact your ISP and inform police to get the Web site removed.

More information about how to use the Internet safely and wisely can be found on the Internet Safety page of the Attorney General's Web site.

Do not engage in Cyber defamation attacks on this site! Do not call names, threaten, coerce or intimidate.

Do not post about it, do not PM about it, and if you feel like you have been attacked either in post or PM, do NOT respond to it, flag it with the "!", and send ME a PM about Attacking PMs and quote the message.

Do not send me PMs that are provoked or incited by you. The first thing I do is find out from the other person what the deal is, if they say that you sent them a PM first, your argument just lost all credibility.

Whenever a digital note is made it can not be taken back, and there is a record of it that can be copied to US and we can read the things you say. That said, we don't want to have to delete things, we don't want to have to mediate peace between PM wars, we want a forum that does not have to be moderated, because it is full of professionals.

Remember this is a forum, and as such is open to discussion. If you have critical things to say about a suggestion or a recommendation based on personal experience, that is fine, that is good discussion. Not every negative criticism of the topic at hand is directed at you personally, however, threatening remarks and defamation will not be tolerated.

The more you post the more you are scrutinized. Do not hunt selected posters to try and intimidate them from posting, if you feel hunted, flag it and tell us about it.

When in doubt, don't post. Let time smooth things out.

7
Guys, it is getting to be that time of year again where all the kids are out of school and have nothing better to do but fill up the boards with bologna.

I ask that you guys do your best to flag posts instead of inciting flame wars and causing more posts to have to be deleted.

Reviews / Review Guidelines
« on: March 18, 2010, 09:19:03 PM »
New guns come along and we want to hear about them!! or... if you have an old one that you like, lets hear about it.

Please do not make a new review for something that has been done before, use the search function! If you want to add, please do, but make it useful and not just a necropost.

Here are a few guidelines to make your review useful to everyone.

Photos are great, please include them or give us a link.

Details(thanks Rogue Fox):
stock barrel length and bore
Range/accuracy stats
battery location
included parts[did it come with Irons and the like?]
Mag choice[kwas are known to be picky about mags, what are you using and how do they work?]
What have you done to it?

Price, and where you got it.

Personal experience!! (how has it done on the field? broke? modified?)

General Airsoft Discussion / SAS training with Airsoft.
« on: November 21, 2008, 10:52:04 AM »
Found this while surfing on YouTube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=peLTvn0L128

I know it is a TV show, but it is nice that they mention Airsoft by name. I hope this adds a bit of legitimacy to the use of airsoft as a training aid.

AEG's / King Arms FAL Para full length
« on: September 05, 2008, 06:13:05 PM »
Most people who know me know I am not really the type to go out and get a gun that is different from the norm of ARs and AKs. But for some reason when these started coming out all I could think about was how in some of the most hard core soldier of fortune dudes were running these.

First impression:
Neat, full metal, rather heavy, loooong barrel with the flash hider on, so I took it off.

The internal barrel is 509mm which I changed to a madbull tight bore right off the bat. I didnt need to break open the gearbox because the thing was shooting 340-350fps with 0.2g bbs right out of the box. It was a bit of a pain to change that too, but luckly Jared over at the gearbox was able to help me out getting it all back together, to which he remarked "King arms fal, sig arms in disguise" (to the tune of transformers). Internally it shares the hopup and mechbox with a sig, so that should make sig fans happy that there will be parts available in the future that are compatible. The Charging handle is sticky but I haven't oiled it yet so that may just be how it is. The selection between modes of fire is nice and crisp and the operation of it is nice and tight. I will make an effort to do some range testing in the future with it, but as of now the furthest I have shot it is 10ft.
The mags are 90rnd midcaps and thanks to the gearbox I have 4 in addition to the one that it came with (thanks king arms for not selling the gun with a hicap). The battery area on the para is a bit limited to small stick batteries but that is ok with me because my other gun is my Dboys AK that takes the same thing. The balance point without the mag is right over the handgrip, nice until you realize the para stock is almost half the weight of the gun because the whole thing is cast metal (even the rubber pad).

Here are a few closeups that I took today:

Pros: Nice model of a historic weapon, should have good range and reliability with the barrel and hopup.
Cons: Limited battery space, the para stock is wayyyyy to heavy, difficult to take apart, some minor casting blemishes. oh and fal mags are freaking huge, yes even bigger than m14 mags, though not tapered thank goodness.

I am on the lookout for a solid stock before I start drilling out parts of the para stock to save weight.

Oh and I couldn't have a bunch of mags sitting around so I made a little rhody chest rig to hold em. Now you guys may understand who the dude in shorts was at the last game, and why.

AEG's / Looking for a new gun? here is some suggestions!
« on: August 10, 2008, 09:37:25 AM »
There seems to be a lot of confusion as to what gun to buy within your price range, so instead of asking again and again here is a breakdown of guns to buy in pricing brackets.

0-$50
save your money. There are a lot of spring guns that you can get with a little dough, but as soon as someone you know gets and AEG the party is over.

$50-100
There are a few GBBs to be had in this price range but very few AEGs that are worth getting.

$100-150
M4 type and MP5 type: Classic army sportline series guns. They are similar to the original TM style weapons, with plastic bodies but metal internals.
Ak type: I would take a Dboys "kalash" AK over a cyma but with shipping it would put you edging into the next price bracket.
Pistol: most gbb guns fall in this price range.

$150-200
M4, MP5 and AK type: Echo 1 series guns. Metal bodies, metal gearboxes.

$200-300
This would be the begining of the "high-end" area, CA, TM, G&G etc... with this amount of cash you can usually scoop up some good used guns from the higher brackets.

$300-500
CA m15a4, SCAR-L most online stores have prices in this bracket.
Full range of guns, there are few that you wouldn't be able to afford.

$500+
CA M249
TH M240
M134
But who would want any of these??

Remember that you don't have to spend a lot on a gun to enter the sport, but there is more than just a decent AEG required for local play.
These are a necessity not a suggestion!

Camelbak $30-100
BDU set $50-70
Radio $25-100
Good outdoor shoes $30-100
Spare mags $20-30
BBs $10-20
death rag $1
goggles $30-100

Other's please chime in with your opinions!!!

General Off-Topic Discussion / w00t crowned word of the year!!
« on: December 11, 2007, 09:15:01 PM »
all I can say is w00t!!

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20071212/us_ ... RlIF8XIr0F

from Reuters:

BOSTON (Reuters) - "w00t," an expression of joy coined by online gamers, was crowned word of the year on Tuesday by the publisher of a leading U.S. dictionary.

Massachusetts-based Merriam-Webster Inc. said "w00t" -- typically spelled with two zeros -- reflects a new direction in the American language led by a generation raised on video games and cell phone text-messaging.

It's like saying "yay," the dictionary said.

"It could be after a triumph or for no reason at all," Merriam-Webster said.

Visitors to Merriam-Webster's Web site were invited to vote for one of 20 words and phrases culled from the most frequently looked-up words on the site and submitted by readers.

Runner-up was "facebook" as a new verb meaning to add someone to a list of friends on the Web site Facebook.com or to search for people on the social networking site.

Merriam-Webster President John Morse said "w00t" reflected the growing use of numeric keyboards to type words.

"People look for self-evident numeral-letter substitutions: 0 for O; 3 for E; 7 for T; and 4 for A," he said. "This is simply a different and more efficient way of representing the alphabetical character."

One Web site, www.thinkgeek.com, already sells T-shirts with the word "w00t" printed on the front.

"w00t belongs to gamers the world over. It seems to have been derived from the obsolete 'whoot' which essentially is another way to say 'hoot' which itself is a shout or derisive laugh," Think Geek said on its Web site.

"But others maintain that w00t is the sound several players make while jumping like bunnies in Quake III," it added, referring to a popular video game.

Online gamers often replace numbers and symbols with letters to form what Merriam-Webster calls an "esoteric computer hacker language" known as "l33t speak." This translates into "leet," which is short for "elite."

A separate survey of words used in the media and on the Internet by California-based Global Language Monitor produced a different set of winners on Tuesday. "Hybrid" took top honors as word of the year with "climate change" the top phrase.

Global Language Monitor, which uses an algorithm to track words and phrases in the media and on the Internet, said "hybrid" had broad connotations of "all things green from biodiesel to wearing clothes made of soy to global warming."

Runner-up was "surge," based on the "surge" of 30,000 extra U.S. troops deployed to Iraq since mid-June, followed by the word "Bluetooth," a technology used to connect electronic devices via radio waves.

"The English language is becoming more and more a globalized language every year," said Global Language Monitor president Paul Payack, noting that this year's list included words also culled from India, Singapore, China and Australia.
