I think the reason why they are pushing their way through traffic is because if they stopped, they would be more prone to ambush. To me it seemed like the people knew to get off when bumped. And im sure they oblige because they dont want to be caught in the middle of a firefight.
You are exactly right. Not only that, but guys in vans will drive up in front, pop open the rear doors, shoot an RPG or just machine gun you. Not to mention IEDs. My father was a marine during the early stages there and he said that you NEVER stopped in the middle of town if you could help it. Traffic rules be damned when your life is on the line.
