I have a Remington 700 PSS in .308 and a Remington 700 ADL in .223.  Obviously, the 308 has quite a bit more kick.  What would you like to know?  I use the 308 and my wife uses the .223.  The 308 has Laupold Mark IV mount and rings and a Leupold Vari-X III 6.5-20x40 scope on it while the .223 has a Tasco Super Sniper Scope - 10x42.  I didn't get a Mark 4 scope because I found it difficult to justify spending more on the scope than the rifle.

I am having the barrel on the .223 cut down to 20" and threaded.  It will be the host gun for my TAC16 suppressor, but will also be able to accept a flash suppressor, and therefore my Gemtech HALO if I so desire.   :)

As for a Remington 700, I can't say I have heard of the "SPS" version.

Raith is correct.  There have been so many promises made by ARES that it's sick.  ARES has had "deposits" for buyers of the Shrike for literally YEARS.  Many of those have realized that it just isn't going to happen and asked for refunds.  ARES probably cleaned up on interest from the "deposits" since they have had them for so long.  It's a very cool idea, but there have just been too many bridges burned in the process of bringing it out.  Go to the SAR show in December and I guarantee that ARES will be there with a prototype tauting how it's going to be out "very, very soon"...  just like they did last year, the year before that, the year before that, etc...  :s

Actually guys - don't mean to burst the bubble - but it isn't true.

I have both an airsoft P99 and a real Walther P99 - one in .40 and the other in 9mm.  Out of all my handguns, the Walthers are definitely the most comfortable and ergonomic - no question about it.  They are average as far as recoil goes, but I can't hit the broad side of a barn with them - but that's just me.  One of them has the QA SA/DA trigger and the other is a DAO.  The trigger pull on both is unusually long and really takes getting used to.  That's probably my biggest complaint - my only complaint - on the P99's.  I'd be willing to bet that if that trigger were cleaned up, I'd actually be able to shoot them well.  I did notice that Walther had recently released a new version of the P99 that sports a universal rail (rather than their proprietary one) and also gets rid of the long trigger pull.  I may have to try out one of the new ones.

About the CA G36C - out of curiosity, why didn't you get the G36K or the G36 instead of the G36C?

Try leaving the spring compressed (the rifle cocked) for a few days.  That usually does enough to drop the velocity ~10 FPS.

CCW 8 hour course:  $60

Didn't the state just cut this down to 4 hours?

It was 16 hours but was cut down to 8 hours.

I hope to start by next month. Just need to finish up the user agreement. I will schedule a time next month for the CCW classes. It will most likely be on a Sunday.

Ah...  Can't do Sundays...  oh well.    :?

I unlocked the PKM and couldn't be happier with it.  My next unlock will be the MP5 replacement.  Ironically, I tend to play Medic and Support most often, but I also enjoy the commander role.  The SA80 for the medic isn't really an improvement over the M16.  The G3 is good, but I don't want to sacrifice the grenade launcher - way too useful.  Of course, I have another 6K points before I can unlock another gun anyway.

Okay - I put in the two Maxtor SATA150 drives.  My computer has started doing some funky stuff.  After I get through loading the RAID drivers and copying over files for Win install, the computer shuts off (sometimes it's during the Win install) and makes an alternating beep noise (high - low - high - low) and continues until I unplug the computer.  It has me at a loss.  The beeps are nothing like bad CPU or bad Video or bad RAM beeps - these are of a completely different type.

Anyone have any ideas?

Interesting...  I'd be curios as to what the USMC "sponsorship" would include.  A base?  A CQB facility?  Or is it just a fancy way of saying that they will have a USMC recruiter there with shirts, DVD's and fliers to give away?

My neighbor (renter) is a USMC recruiter.  I've spoken to him a few times...  they get a LOT of pressure...  not a job I'd want.

I'm still here - for the most part.  You can point the finger at John for my "falling away" ;) .  If I hadn't gone to Ben Avery that one time...
