I believe most of of the poll may lean more towards the slightly conservative, to neutral side.
If people have an interest in airsoft guns, than they may also share an interest in real guns, which the conservative side shows a slightly wider acceptance of.
But I may be wrong. There are all types of people who have totally different political views than what their interests suggest. For example, I know friends who have political views that are totally conservative based, but on the other hand, they dont care for the republican party.
It depends upon who votes here (duh). What I mean is that
generally speaking, the young ones here will lean to the left of center/liberal while the older members, and those who have kids will tend to lean to the right/conservative.
Those who are poor, young, non-religious, students, single and HIGHLY educated (eg, PhD's) tend to be more liberal. Those who are older, religious, married/families/kids, middle-class, educated (Bachelor's and Masters degree-types) usually are the more conservative ones. There are exceptions of course, but those are the trends.
Here, those who are interested in guns usually indicates that they have a bias towards individual responsibility (in this case, for their safety) which is
generally not something that the majority of the left subscribes to; the left seems to hold that responsibility belongs to society as a whole.
When I saw this thread, I was guessing that because of the ages of the active posters here, we'd probably get about 65% leaning towards the conservative side, 25% leaning towards the liberal side of things and the rest not really caring, or libertarian.
