We dont do indoor games much. Occasionally there is a SASCO game, but smaller is always nice though.

Yes, you can always put a crane stock and get an M4 front, but if you get an M16A3, they are pretty nice looking. Put a RIS on it and you will have an M16A4. (Thats how it works, right?)

Which stores are out of stock?  Are you looking for a US retailer, or one in HK?

Kurn, as far as I can find, all the HK dealers were out. Luckly, someone posted an M15A4 for sale, and I found it, ironically on these boards. I've checked Boomarms.com, UNcompany.com, www.wgcshop.com (http://www.wgcshop.com), and a few others. www.airsplat.com (http://www.airsplat.com) has them for $324 with free shipping, although a little steep.

I was looking for an HK or US retailer.   But JungleToy said they will have them in tomarrow (the m15a4r that is).   I really like the retractable stocks... I have one on my real A3... although it looks a bit weird it functions much better than with the A2 stock for me.   I guess I could just relocate the battery up to the front handguards right??

You would need to rewire the battery wires to the gear box. Complicated from what I've heard.
Title:
Post by: yellowmonkey on July 14, 2004, 04:09:15 AM
Yes, you will need to rewire the gearbox. You sould also know that the m15's with a retractable stock require you to store your battery somewhere other than the stock. They come with a cruddy looking AN/PAQ laser replica (mounts on the RIS), so eventually you will either want a stock that can store a battery (solid/ crane) or you will want to buy a realistic AN/PAQ battery box. Either way it's going to run you at least 40 dollars.

Post by: Harley on July 14, 2004, 06:41:00 AM
Well if he went to a Crane style stock with the battery in it then he wouldn't need to rewire anything.
Title:
Post by: yellowmonkey on July 14, 2004, 10:37:18 AM
Err... wouldn't he have to rewire it so the electrical connectors so that they go to the back of the gun... where the battery is?
He said he wanted an m15 w/ a telescoping stock, the wiring goes to the foregrip on those.
Title:
Post by: Harley on July 14, 2004, 11:43:55 AM
If he bought the M15A4 with the full stock he wouldn't have to do anything to the wiring.  Isn't that what he said was the only one available and asked about converting?

Come here so I can tackle you.

JungleToy will have the m15a4r in tomarrow...  I may have to settle for the full size.

I take it the full size can be reconfigured sometime down the road right???  I wouldn't mind a full size for outdoors but a 10.25 and collapsable stock would be nice indoors.

I thought he was going to go for the collapsable stock version if it was avalibe. I guess we'll have to see who gets tackled after he he buys whatever is avalible.

JungleToy has the A4r's in stock...  i'm going to run out and grab one... SWEEET.

Question on the commando (10.25 or so) barrel upgrade.   Do you lose a lot of velocity and range????   I've always wanted a real shorty but didn't want to deal with the 200 buck SBR and paperwork red tape.

Actually the crane stock sounds like what I may eventually want.    I have a Vltor on one of my real m4's and the cheek weld is superb.   The Vltor is quite similar to the crane in feel.

Do you guys have a link for CA compatible parts like the crane stock and barrel upgrades???

Thanks

Well you can either get a 1 Piece commando barrel or a convertible one. All Tm upgrades are compatable with CA and vise-versa. Zenith and Prime both make great crane stocks. They are nice looking, good quality and a few people have them from AA.

<b>Classic Army m4a1 Convertible Barrel:</b> http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper.ph ... 0for%20AEG (http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper.php?itm=CA-MB-M4OB_cat_Outer%20Barrel%20for%20AEG)
(^^With the first piece the flash hider is snug to the front sight tower.)

<b>First factory one piece m4a1 commando barrel:</b> http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper.ph ... 0for%20AEG (http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper.php?itm=FF-ACC-M4RHOBS_cat_Outer%20Barrel%20for%20AEG)
(Flash hider also fits snug to the front sight tower)

<b>STAR Convertible 2 piece outer barrel:</b>  http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper.ph ... 0for%20AEG (http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper.php?itm=STAR-ACC-M4OB_cat_Outer%20Barrel%20for%20AEG)
(I havent heard about anyone having this outer barrel, I assume its metal. But you might want to contact WGC to see whether or not it is.)

Thanks for all the links!!!!   So does the shorter barrel give you less velocity????

Also after calling and confirming JungleToy had the CAm15a4r..  I drove all the way out there and they said they didn't have them : (

so screw it.. I will just order it.
Title:
Post by: busta_cap on July 14, 2004, 06:57:40 PM
They will give you more FPS straight out of the muzzle but it will drop in fps and accuracy quite a bit quicker than a normal length barrel. You can still have good accuracy with a commando barrel though.
Title:
Post by: Harley on July 14, 2004, 07:07:29 PM
You lose approximately 7fps per inch of inner barrel you remove.  A standard M4 inner barrel is 14 inches, so if you go to a 10 inch inner barrel you've lost almost 30fps.  You can get 400fps out of a Commando but you need to run a hotter spring like an M130 to do so.  TheRev has a Commando running an M130.  My Commando is running a Bore up M16 cylinder kit and doing around 400fps as well with a PDI170 spring.

Yes I am a proud owner of a CA commando . Thanks again Harley!!!!!!!!!    : )          I'm remodeling my house and just had fun on the drywall in one of my bathrooms!!!  I had no idea these things hit that hard!   I'm all smiles tonight.        Now I just need to grab some paint tomarrow and feather the carry handle.    I can't wait to play!

Thanks!!

just too many problems with those m16 varients--sliding stock or full stock,RIS,where to store the battery, blah blah blah.  All you need is an <font size="6">ak47</font id="size6">[:)]

I still can't believe how powerful this commando is...    I think i need to shoot myself to appreciate its power though : )  haha.

I feel like a total n00b...  Its totally upgraded and I have no idea whats going on inside of it.   I know it has some systema parts...

Well at least you now know why we have a no "shoot to kill" zone of 10ft when using upgraded AEGs. Now you will know what kind of pain you would be throwing out there if you shot at too close of a range, especially in the neck area!   I had to have my brother shoot me with my gun so I knew exactly how the other player would feel when shot by my gun, I respect it more that way and I take more care in placing my shots.
Title:

Acutally it's 20 feet not 10 for AEG's and 50 feet for upgraded sniper rifles.

That's what I thought it was, I think 20ft is better anyways, but I was under the impression from others that it was 10ft.

I looked under the AA rules and I didnt mention anything about AEG engagement limits, only about sniper engagement limits.

I don't mind getting shot at close range... No pain, no gain... it's my teeth that I fear for. Airsoft BB's can easily chip teeth, that's why I always try not to do too much smiling during an airsoft game.
