sorry i was a bit unclear.  i ment i don't remeber them saying anything about a weird looking person, i knew that Ephialtes had led them around so they say, but i wasn't sure if he looked the way he did.  Also do you think there was any steril procedure for removing arms and inplanting swords for arms? such as the executioner persons. o yes thank you Raith for the link tho.

I'm sure it was for dramatic effect.  However, there were many "secrets" used by ancient civilizations lost over the centuries that would scare most people.

I was gonna see it today, but the tickets are all sold out for Imax, and if I can't go big, I won't go at all.  If you guys like the movie, check out the graphic novel.  That was amazing.

What's the title of the graphic novel?

I know there's a fictional book based on the facts of the battle.  The book is titled "Gates of Fire" and I'm actually in the process of reading it for a fourth time.  I carry it around in one of my ACU cargo pockets or like on Friday, in my rucksack.

300, written and illustrated(but not colored) by Frank Miller (Sin City).  That's one of the best things I've read in a long time.
