New Classic Army AEGs
« on: December 10, 2007, 10:02:34 PM »
SA58 Rifle

CA25 URX Special Forces

CA25 URX Entry Carbine

M15A4 SOCOM

I like the SA58 rifle, but I think thats still just the carbine length.  I'm not completely versed in FALs, but I think the "rifle" length is considerable longer-like.  Not interested until they make standard or midcap mags.

The CA25 URX guns are cool, but G&P makes a similar model to the first one.  CA stuff can be less expensive, so I suppose I like that.  This would also have the advantage of not being a G&P gun. :P

The M15A4 SOCOM is cool, I guess... If you're Paul.

What do you not like about G&P guns? Besides the annoying clockwise threading.

Interesting to see the Marine EGA in the URX's lower receiver.

Just set in my ways, I guess.  I actually have no experience with G&P guns.  G&G, though, I don't like. G&P suffers from name proximity, I guess. :P

I like G&P parts, for the most part.

The EGA on the lower confounds me, but those 2 URX carbines look nice.

Oddly enough, I think the coolest of the 4 is the "SOCOM" M15.  With a Crane stock, low-profile gas block instead of the FSP, a 7" FF rail, and a Noveske KX3 that would be a badass little shooter!

Not trying to be rude, but isn't this old news?  I have had my SA-58 for almost 2 months now.  I already posted a mini-review (complete with crappy pics) on here a month or so ago.  The newer SR-25's came out about the same time.

That said, I question if we will EVER see standards or mids for it.  We have 3 different FAL based guns out now (KA FAL, CA SA-58, Star L1A1) all of which use proprietary mags.

No, the shorter one came out a while back, but this one is different.  There are 2 CA25s out, but not these URX ones.  These are all variants, yeah, but they're not old.

Yeah, I forgot the existing URX's are G&P's.  Sorry about that.

Here are a few pics of mine I got tonight.

Close up of trademarks

Pretty good quality for $120.00.
Shoots 330's out of the box
Typical CA
Inner Barrel is anodized blue aluminum.
The cylinder is also  anodized blue, but most likely brass.
The gun is lighter than a Marui or ECHO 1.

No idea.  Stuff appears on classicarmy.com and the various airsoft news sites usually much before it is actually available.

Hey Paul-

is there any barrel wobble, creaking of plastic, or anything else like a marui m4?

I do know that the sportline uses the same 2 piece barrel design that the Marui uses, so yeah, barrel wobble will be a problem after time. It does not, however, use body tabs, so having those break will not be a problem.
