A new CQB Arena.
« on: March 23, 2010, 06:52:37 PM »
Hello guys...I have some great news. My Father has leased out a building to a person..That person has told my Dad that he will be making it into a CQB Airsoft Arena. I believe it is 30,000 Square Feet. The estimated open time is in May 2010.
This is not a fake, it is totally Legit!

NOTICE: This is not the same Arena as CQB AZ, these are two different owners.

Nice!  Do you know where it's going to be located or what type of building it is?

Are you referring to the Vanguard Indoor Playground?

I do not have the exact name of what it will be called, but the location will be at Val Vista & Baseline Rd. The building is one story, and it is a very expensive peace of real estate. Any extra information will be posted when received.

It is Vanguard. It s an 18000 sq ft building. 13000 for the field area, and 5000 for a place to pay/put gear. I talked to them today and they are hoping to be open in June. FPS limit is going to be 330 with .2s. I was told the facility is going to be modeled like the shopping center where the store is located with Val Vista and Baseline running through the middle. So far they have put down concrete to level out the floor but none of the buildings have been built. That's allni know.

Any reason the velocity limits will be set at 330fps rather then 350?

I believe that is just what has been set around the area.

I know some places in California go up to 350fps w/ .20g

Probably because at that close of range 330 is still hitting HARD. I have a cracked knuckle to prove it. Most CQB places don't have a minimum engagement distance so you get newer players spraying you in the back of the head, from 10 feet, on full auto, till the mag is empty.
This was brought up many times with the guys at CQBAZ, and it all comes down to safety.  If you say why not 350 than why not 375 and if we are at 375 why not 400???? A limit has to be set and enforced at some point. I myself would have no problem with 300 W/0.2. I have seen people be very successful using AEP’s at CQBAZ the those things are SLOW.

Are you kidding me? 330 w/.2g is perfect. Anything over would be ridiculous to be shot with at such close ranges. While the facility won't be set up like a room-to-room field, it'll still have some close spots where you're bound to get shot within a foot or so.

If you're thinking why is it not like California's CQB FPS limit, 350 w/.2g, (To my understanding), it's because they have bigger facilities that have more open space for what you can call "long range" shooting for CQB. So there isn't as many players being shot at within a foot or so.

It's all about what makes the field owners happy. I know a few places out here (Cali) that are 350, though at the same time I have played a CQB field that had a max of 400. To me there is no difference in the pain level, you are still getting shot a lot, very close, but it would be a safety thing. Can your eye protection REALLY handle 6-10 rounds at near point blank?

What are the restrictions on full auto going to be? Also will the lighting be adjustable? (playing games with the lights out in CQB is awesome) The more information the better!

Yes, and if yours cant, you shouldn't be playing airsoft with it.
