Problem with my KWA G18C
« on: September 15, 2005, 12:18:08 AM »
Just a few days ago, my KWA G18C's slide portion fell apart. The selector switch popped out and so did the lever alignment pin. The selector elevator soon followed, luckily I had some schematics and that link at WGC shop where the gunsmith shows you how to replace a G18C barrel with a metal one to reference to. I was able to put everything back together, the selector switch works fine now. I put a few rounds through it, and it seems to shoot fine. However, there's this one lingering problem that preceded the slide problem. I'm having difficulty firing in full auto mode with my 50-round hi-cap magazines. It looks like the recoil spring guide is starting to go, but another problem that puzzles me even more is that when I try to use the mag release on one of my hi-caps, it falls maybe an inch or two then it seems to get jammed up against something within the pistol grip. I have absolutely no clue what is causing that to happen with that one particular hi-cap. It doesn't seem to happen with the other hi-cap that I have, and I checked them both for physical deformities, there appear to be none besides scratches in the paint from normal use. Does anyone here have any ideas? I'd like to avoid a costly repair bill from Jungle Toy if at all possible.
