Operation Red Sleigh Down

TAC in coordination with the Desert Hawks is proud to present the 11th annual Operation Red Sleigh Down on Saturday, December 12th 2015.  Operation Red Sleigh Down is a benefit game that raises awareness about children in need this holiday season.  Near the holiday season each year, we gather to play an organized airsoft event and fill a car with new unwrapped toys and then donate those toys to the USMC Toys For Tots program.  Please consider coming out, helping those in need, and having a good time with us while you are at it.

To see what the community was able to donate in previous years visit the below link:

Scenario:
The group know as the People's Occupation and Liberation Expedition (POLE) has sent a sizable group into Northern Tanistan in search of a downed supply plane.  This supply plane was carrying support and relief supplies north for all the good girls and boys when it went down over a remote desert area.  Tanistan has search parties combing the crash area and attempting to secure the area and the supplies from POLE.  POLE and Tanistan forces now fight for control of the border area in a search for the missing supplies.

Admission
This event is by admission only.  Your admission is unwrapped toys with an equal or greater value of $10.  Cash donations are discouraged, but if you forget your items a suggested cash donation of $15 will allow the staff to purchase items in your behalf when dropping the donations off.

    Special Rules
    Money
    • Money can be earned for the team by completing mission objectives, and can be used to bribe neutral factions to fight with you.
    • Unless otherwise noted, each player will begin the game with ₴100 in a game “Wallet” that is kept on your person at all times.
    • Each Faction will also receive a small amount of cash and Items that will be located at the team’s “Stash” which will be located at the team’s spawn point. The “Stash” is an un-crackable safe and must not be touched, pilfered, or looted by anyone. Steal from it and you will be ejected from the game.
    • Any cash in the “Stash” will not count toward the Faction's Victory total, so keep it as dry as you can.
    Hits and Respawns
    • If you are hit in any part of your body or gear, you are killed.
    • Gun hits do not count.
    • When a player is killed, someone else may "Loot" their “Wallet” off their body.
    • If you are hit anywhere on the body, you will take your “Wallet” and hold it into the air. You will then stand in place for 1 minute. During this time you may be looted by another player, even a team mate.
    • If you are looted to ₴0 (your looter may leave you with some cash) you must return to your Faction’s spawn and take cash from your “Stash” to spawn.
    • If you do not have ₴100 in your “Stash” to put back into your "Wallet", you are not saved by a comrade with cash, or a “Medic Band”, you will become a “Zombie” for a short time.
    • You may also "Bribe" a Military Adviser for a new life so that you won’t have to walk back to your spawn point. ₴Varies.
    • Any Admin may spawn or “Zombie” anyone, anywhere. The player has simply succumbed to the radiation of the area. Just play along its part of the fun.
    Zombies
    • You WILL become a “Zombie” if: you are killed within a “Radiation Zone and have insufficient funds to spawn.
    • To not be a “Zombie” in the game, you must have ₴100 in your “Wallet” and any other cash you may store in the Russian Bank. Ghosts cannot make withdrawals though. So, if you have no cash, will have to work off the respawn by becoming a “Zombie” for a short period of time. At the end of this service, you will receive ₴300 and allowed to spawn.
    • You will go to the Casualty Collection Point located within the bank and wait for sufficient numbers to start a ‘Zombie” mob.
    • You will then be escorted to another location by an Admin, and unleashed to shamble across the battle field.
    • You must act like a shambolic, movie, Zombie and “attack” the nearest “live” player.
    • An “attack” from a “Zombie” is simply a touch. Don’t get crazy out there. People won’t appreciate it. Overzealous “Zombies” will be warned once and will be asked to leave if it occurs again.
    • ”Zombies” my only be destroyed by a hit to the torso. Arms and legs do not count as hits, and head shots are prohibited. Intentionally shooting a player in the head could result in serious injury. Players will be ejected if they are knowingly malicious.
    • That being said, "Zombies" should only be killed with pistol shots due to the fact there are MED rules.
    Irradiated Zones
    • Radiation Zones are marked with colored tape.
    • If you are in a Radiation Zone without a mask for more than 3 minutes you will be killed.
    Items and Abilities
    • "Medic Band" ₴500. Attach to a friendly player and return them ti the battle. May not be used on yourself. Not reusable.
    • ”Blight Immunity” ₴1000. You are immune to “Zombification.” Unless you want to do it.
    • ”Resilience” ₴10000. You may now ignore hits to your arms and legs. Only hits to your torso count.
    • ”Gas Mask” ₴1000. You may carry Artifacts and survive within the irradiated zone for any amount of time.
    • ”Full auto” ₴1000. The ability to fire on full auto. Now you have enough ammo to let it rip.
    • ”Medical Expertise” ₴1000. You may now reuse “Medic Bands”
    • ”Suicide Bomb” ₴1000. You may use your body as a bomb. It will kill everyone within 15 feet. All regular death rules apply.
    • Additionally there will be other items, abilities, and costs for them, that will be explained in this forum, and at the safety briefing. All rules will be listed with the flyers, posted here, and posted at the Russian Military bunker/bank.
    The Russian Military
    • The Russian Military are government soldiers trained to protect the integrity of the nation. Russia wants the artifacts to study and use. They have sent several military commanders to Pripyat with cash and equipment to obtain these artifacts. They operate independently and will attach themselves to any faction to move them about as pawns, and to prevent the Monolith Faction from returning the Artifacts to the Monolith.
    • Uniform: Modern Russian Camouflage
    • The Russian Military was initially sent to the zone in an attempt to keep the peace in the region. This mission failed. Now, the new mission has changed to buying, begging, or stealing Artifacts and returning them to Moscow for study and weaponization.
    • The Russian Military protects a bank located in the largest remaining structure.
    • The Russian Military may hire Free Stalkers, Duty and Freedom to find Artifacts.
    • The Russian Military are diametrically opposed to the Monolith and will never willingly ally with them.
    • The Russian Military may be carrying any amount of cash on them at any time. They may be robbed but there may be consequences to that endeavor.
    • Goals: Bring disorder to the zone. Collect artifacts. Maintain control of the bunker.
    • The Russian Military Faction members begin the game with “Full Auto”
    Free Stalkers
    • Free Stalkers are just the average gun toting guy, looking to get by in the Zone, and trying to make a quick buck. Quick to flee a fight, but ready to defend their fellow loners out there in the Zone.
    • Free Stalkers may join any faction, may operate as loaners, or form loose alliances among themselves.
    • Free Stalkers do not have a permanent spawn point. They do not have a Faction “Stash” to draw from, so they will always become “Zombies” if killed and the any of the other “Zombie” conditions are met.
    • Free Stalkers may keep their cash in the Russian Bank and sell artifacts to anyone. All cash stored in the bank at Endex will count toward individual victory points for the player.
    • Free Stalkers start with a “Wallet” containing ₴300. Free Stalkers may sell Artifacts to either Monolith or the Military. The Monolith may be inclined to steal them though.
    • Free Stalkers have no real special ability but may purchase abilities cheaper.
    • Goals: Find and sell Artifacts, and Protect fellow Free Stalkers from other factions and the like.
    • Uniforms - Street Clothes or alternate drab or black clothes type. Any colors are fine except Green and Tan camouflage are acceptable.
    Freedom
    • Freedom is a group of gun-toting, freedom loving, soldiers who believe in free access to the Zone and its benefits for everyone and are almost constantly in a state of war with Duty, due to their varying beliefs about the Zone.
    • Freedom may ally with Military, Free Stalkers, and Monolith (in dire need).
    • Freedom is diametrically opposed to Duty and will never willingly ally with them.
    • Freedom Faction members begin the game with “Medical Expertise”
    • Uniforms: Desert Camouflage
    • Goals: Prevent Duty from destroying Artifacts, purchase Artifacts from Stalkers, protect the Free Stalkers from other Stalkers, and Kill Duty Faction members.
    Duty
    • Duty are group of ex-Stalkers, Mercenaries, Soldiers, and Scientists who believe that the Zone is an infestation of the world, and that the horrors within it will eventually spread beyond its borders. They want to see the Zone destroyed, and will stop at nothing to make sure that nothing leaves the Zone. They are generally friendly to Free Stalkers, and will buy Artifacts from them.
    • Duty may ally with Military, Free Stalkers, and Monolith (in dire need).
    • Duty is diametrically opposed to Freedom and will never willingly ally with them.
    • Duty Faction members begin the game with “Medical Expertise”
    • Uniforms: Woodland Camouflage
    • Goals: Capture or buy and destroy Artifacts, and Kill Freedom Faction Members.

Accessories & Gear / Hydrographic transfer printing, at home, Cheap.
    « on: April 27, 2014, 07:10:41 PM »
About a year ago a guy joined TAC in Tucson. He told us about hydrographic dipping gave a few of us prices (which by the way, was frigging expensive, $100-$150 for the furniture) and then disappeared. The whole thing went to the back of my mind. I ran into it again in YouTube a couple weeks ago. I watched hours of video and decided to make an order from Dip Wizard.

I sanded and painted a set of hand guards I had from an old JG, and here is a play by play of the process.

Here is the stuff. I bought $150 worth. Lots of film,  activator, and base paint. Literally enough to do scores of items.

Here's the skull film. I had already done one of the hand guards prior to the play by play.

This is how I measured the film. I was a little short the first time I tried so I made it a little bigger.

I cut it out. I used the excess and made tape ball handles.

I cut slits in the corners so that it could expand.

    Checking the water temperature.

I was alone so i didn't take pictures for the next few steps. I laid the film on the water like all the videos say to do. I ensured there are no bubbles. I set a timer for 1 minute, then sprayed on the activator, and waited 20 seconds. I went in at a 30 ish degree angle and agitated the water ate the end to break the ink away.

The process leaves ink slime that needs to be washed off. I just sat it in the sink and let the water run until the it was not slimy anymore.

Finished parts. They need to be completely dry then lacquered with clear coat.

The whole process really took no time at all. It was the drying time that makes it more than 20 minutes to do.

Sanded stocks. Didn't take but 10 or 15 minutes.

Tan paint. Really just off white. I don't like it, and I need to find a darker Tan.

Post dipped. A little on the light side, but the pistol grip came out exceptional.

Mounted. I can't believe that people pay 100's of dollars to have this done. It's literally 15 to 20 minutes of work and less than $5 in matterial.

    Items and Abilities

    • Buffalo
    • Hollywood

    Free Stalkers
    • Free Stalkers are just the average gun toting guy, looking to get by in the Zone, and trying to make a quick buck. Quick to flee a fight, but ready to defend their fellow loners out there in the Zone.
    • Free Stalkers may join any faction, may operate as loaners, or form loose alliances amongst themselves.
    • Free Stalkers have the special ability of a “Gas Mask” for no cost, at the start of the game.
    • Goals: Find and sell Artifacts, and Protect fellow Free Stalkers from other factions and the like.
    • Uniforms - Street Clothes or alternate camouflage type ATACS, ABU, or ACU. Any colors are fine except Green and Tan are acceptable.
    Free Stalkers Roster

      • Goals: Prevent Duty from destroying Artifacts, purchase Artifacts from Stalkers, protect the Free Stalkers from other Stalkers, and Kill Duty.
      Freedom Roster

        • Goals: Capture or buy and destroy Artifacts, and Kill Duty Faction Members.

          • Monolith hates all factions, and believes they should be purged from the Zone, they take no prisoners. Their leader is a Russian named simply водка or Vodka. He will stop at nothing to take all of the Artifacts in the zone to the Monolith.
          • Monolith may ally with Free Stalkers, Duty, and Freedom. Although they will not want to.
          • Monolith is diametrically opposed to Military and will never willingly ally with them.
          • Водка and his crew begin the game with ”Blight Immunity” for free.
          • Водка will direct the operations of the Faction and is nearly impervious to damage as long as he has minions nearby.
          • Uniform: Multicam
          • Goals: Collect artifacts to offer to the Monolith. Disrupt Military Operations. Kill other Stalkers.

TAC and the Desert Hawks are proud to present the 9th annual Operation Red Sleigh Down on Saturday, December 7th 2013.

          Scenario:
          5 flag, standard Battlefield games.

          Admission
This event is by admission only.  Your admission is unwrapped toys with an equal or greater value of $10.  Cash donations are discouraged, but if you forget your items a suggested cash donation of $15 will allow the staff to purchase items in your behalf when dropping the donations off.

          05.04.13

          Presented by Desert Hawks Airsoft
This game is free of charge.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: "Road out of Pryp'yat" is a continuation Stalker based game series. It is an upcoming scenario game to be hosted at SASCO AO 04 May 2013. This game is loosly based off of the popular video game and film, Stalker takes place after the Chernobyl Nuclear disaster, with teams fighting for control in the irradiated "Zone".

          Concept -
Players will be a member of a Faction, with each Faction having a base of operations where the team's Money is stored. It costs $100 (Game Money) per life, and as such each player must be carrying $100 to be "alive" in the game, when a player is killed, someone else can take their money off their "body". Money can be earned for the team by completing mission objectives, and can be used to bribe neutral factions to fight with you. Money can also be used to "purchase" full auto, nobody, excluding the Military, starts being allowed to use full auto fire, it must be "purchased" first.

          S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: "A New Beginning"

Presented by Desert Hawks Airsoft and friends.

This game is free of charge.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: "A New Beginning" is a continuation of the Darrk's Stalker based game series. It is an upcoming scenario game to be hosted at SASCO AO this March 9th. Based off of the popular video game and film, Stalker takes place after the Chernobyl Nuclear disaster, with teams fighting for control in the irradiated "Zone".

          The Story Thus Far -
This game will focus heavily on the events near the end of the last game, with the Military forces destroying both the Freedom and Duty bases, and recapturing the bunker. Monolith forces have regrouped, being able to lay-low during the inter-factional conflict, and have re-purposed their forces for once and for all defeating anyone who treks into the Zone.  The Military, having only barely survived the loss of their base themselves, and dealing with the result of their vast weapons stockpiles being looted and sold off by Freedom, is trying to organize back to their full strength.

As the Soviet Union fell, many of their governmental employees were left stranded in the Zone. While originally a collection of researchers studying the Zone, the Ecologists have, in the absence of their superiors, developed an almost cult-like devotion to the Zone, and view humans as a scourge on the planet. All the while, the average Stalker still tries to make a quick ruble for himself, as do the Bandits by robbing the Stalkers, as is life in the ZONE.

And so begins the next chapter in the STALKER Airsoft Arizona story, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: "A New Beginning"

          Concept -
Players will be a member of a Faction, with each Faction having a base of operations where the team's Money is stored.

-Criminals who came to the Zone looking for their fortune, or just trying to avoid jail time. They often rob Stalkers of their treasures and leave them for dead. Because of their tactics, almost all factions hate them, but most don't have the time to deal with them.

          Ecologists (10+ Players)
-At times they may look like a ragtag force of scientists just going about their research, but now, they hide a dark secret. They view all life as a threat to the divinity of the Zone, and want to purge it. They are generally not openly hostile, but they will stop at nothing to see their goals completed.
Uniforms - Camo + Lab Coat (Any sort of "sciency" over-uniform, a pack of painter smocks can be bought for cheap from a hardware store)

          Directions –
          1.   Take I10 South to exit 226 at Red Rock.
          2.   After exiting go right onto East Sasco Road.
          3.   Turn onto S Aguirne Lane.
          4.   Turn onto East Sasco Rd again and continue until a fork.
          5.   At the fork continue on Sasco, do not go to E Coachway road.
          6.   Continue down Sasco, you will encounter a wash, most likely filled with water, you need a truck!
          7.   Carefully make your way through that by car, or walk the rest of the way (less than 2 miles)
          8.   Continue down East Sasco Road until you reach the field, marked by either a (small) sign, or by the cars of the other players, do not drive into the area though, please park in a safe location nearby, we don’t want cars on the field.
