General Airsoft Discussion / Ordering overseas
« on: July 25, 2012, 02:24:57 PM »
So with the sad loss of gearbox and less than stellar service I have gotten from Evike and Airsoftgi, I decided to give some of the overseas vendors a try.

Placed an order with ehobbyasia on a Monday. Prices with shipping was much lower than Evike and they had stuff that Evike doesn't or can't carry. Received order only two days after placing! Shipping was far less than I could have gotten from Evike and Evike usually takes a day or two just to get order to shipping. I did have to ask ehobbyasia a few questions and they were very slow on replies but once order was placed they did great.

Also placed an order with Tokyo Model Company
There selection is amazing. I found items that are out of stock everywhere else and their prices are fantastic.
Best of all their email response on product questions were instant and very helpful. They also do 3 day FedEx or EMS shipping to US and prices for shipping are less than Evike which I don't understand unless Evike is making money up charging shipping.

I don't understand how it is that these overseas vendors can sell products so much cheaper and get it from China or Taiwann to US in 3 days at a lower shipping cost than California based Evike or AirsoftGI but I highly recommend either for great prices and fast shipping but overall Tokyo Model Company has better selection and customer service.

General Airsoft Discussion / Venting at unethical techs
« on: July 18, 2012, 01:10:19 AM »
So this is my chance to vent at unethical repair techs

About a year ago I bought my sons 3 guns for use at Vanguard arena.
One was a brand new G&P PTS MOE M4-stock
One a Classic Army MP5-stock
One a Hurricane Shrike-systema 120 gearbox and magnus motor

I took them in to have their tech (who at the time was Ian) place new springs for cqb

No other shop as touched these guns since Ian

Over the past 2 weeks I have been converting them into polarstar builds
When the guns were taken apart I discovered that all 3 gearboxes and motors had been swapped out for very used echo-1 (probably their rental guns) gearboxes and motors.

So not only did he steal my G&P gear box and M120 motor, my CA gearbox and CA motor, and my Systema Gearbox and Motor and replaced them with cheap echo-1 rental stuff I actually paid him to do it and gave him a nice tip for getting it done so quickly.

In fairness to Vanguard, when I brought the issue up with the owner Brian he was very apologetic and said Ian was fired for suspicion of stealing.

So moral is pick your tech wisely. I know the current techs at Vanguard are great guys and I would trust them not to steal my parts and this is not a slam on vanguard just that scumbag Ian.

Airsoft Items FOR SALE / Delete

So I want to buy a quality P90 body to build a polarstar P90 savage hunter
I found a guy willing to sell one but it's got a lot of internal upgrades which would be useless to me.
So would anyone be willing to buy these parts for their P90 to upgrade their internals. Also see my WTB add if you have a body to sell.

Here are the P90 internals from a Tokyo Marui that I could sell

TM P90 Gearbox with
prommy gears:
prommy cut off lever
prommy piston:
prommy piston head:
5KU cylinder and CH
AWS sentry mosfet with burst feature
systema 60 degree bucking and nub:
teinly GT35000 motor
Full wiring harness Deans and trigger set
6x MAG midcaps:
3x TM 68rnd:
4x MAG high caps

Please don't ask me for a price, just tell me what you would pay for it. I don't know what they would be worth to someone.

Thanks and please respond via PM unless you have information to add that would be usefull to everyone
And please do your best to control yourselves and not simply post "why the heck would you want to put a polarstar in a P90. My amazing high speed P90 will destroy your polarstar"
If you want to tell me what an idiot I am do it by PM.

AEG's / M27 IAR replaces M249 in USMC fire squads
« on: June 27, 2012, 01:23:22 PM »
USMC announced that the M27 IAR, which is a modified HK416, has replace M249 as support gun position in fire squads. Although not belt feed, it is designed for higher rate of fire with less overheating than M4 and now has 100 round mag capability.
http://bulletin.accurateshooter.com/2011/10/marines-replace-m249-saw-with-m27-iar-hk416/

By the way VFC has announced that the M27 IAR will be available for sale in July and taking pre-orders now.

I have a Hurrican Shrike upper which i am placing on a polarstar M4 to be able to use as needed in support gunner role at Ops that require a support gunner in fire squads and only allow box mags if gun was truly designed for such. Makes me wonder how the new M27 IAR will be viewed at these Ops now that marines have done away with M249

Condition of no concern as will be refurbished with some type of acid was then special paint style.

General Airsoft Discussion / Polarstar Ban?
« on: June 20, 2012, 11:09:07 PM »
So a guy in Cali sold me his P* rig dirt cheap saying they are being banned at major parks in calif
Found this post on pstartalk

Please note: I'm on my phone, so please excuse my grammar and spelling errors.
So I live in southern California and I love to airsoft. For the summer I had planned in purchasing a pass and going to hollywood sports, where i play, almost everyday I could.
So on saturday I made the drive out with some friends and had my polarstar all ready to go and I was extremely excited to play. (complete external changes) when we are signing in and paying I ask for all day air and the cashier points to a sign. " The use of polarstar guns is prohibited." My heart sank. What good is spending hundreds maybe thousands ($1000+ in my case) for a perfect gun, that very likely is the future of airsoft, when you can't use them?
Jim, hsp manager (great guy), said that giant airsoft would be meeting with polarstar that weekend and discussing protocols but I don't see any progress so far. I know I'm being impatient but I just want to airsoft! Ya so just wanted to throw that out there, maybe someone important could see it and help out the situation! Thanks for reading my ramblings!

General Airsoft Game Discussion / Fuji Field permission
« on: June 18, 2012, 04:51:17 PM »
Not posting this in support of any planned events or the prior posted op for this Friday but as my sons like to play at Fuji Field I did take the time to contact Jimmy Hershey the owner of that field. He is very supportive of airsofters using his field as long as they continue to clean up after themselves. He has spoken with Mesa police and they are aware that the kids play there and also have no problem. He is very willing to provide written permission if so desired and if there are any problems with the police he lives very close by at 15528 williamsfield and is willing to have players pickup written permission at his house before playing. He has 19 additional acres in the immediate area and has said airsofters are always welcome.
