usa, a lil slow in the arms dept?
« on: November 15, 2006, 01:27:25 AM »
look here http://world.guns.ru/assault/as30-e.htm

that is the newer israeli weaponry. the Tavor TAR series. now, like many other countries in the menu on the left... israel has adopted the bullpup design for their weaponry. also, austria, australia, the ukraine, of course, france and britain, but also countries like finland have adobted the use of the bullpup design... even russia with the Groza, they also developed a "silent" bullet (theres a link on the page for the groza).. so why not the US?

a few examples

russian Groza

finnish VaLMET

ukraine Vepr

australian AICW

singapore SAR-21

Iran HK 2002

have you held/fired a bullpup. most can only be fired left or right handed at a time, depending on the ejection port config. This limits the ability for anyone to use the weapon in any situation.(i think US forces are all taught to shoot righthanded, anyone?) (ex. transition around corners, injured, simply being left handed may become a problem w/ the design.)Dont get me wrong, I love the bullpup design. I have a .22 in bullpup kit, love it, but it can only be shot righthanded.(unless you want a bolt latch scraping & bass ejecting on your cheek) For casual shooting, few lefthanded friends & wife are not as comfortable with it as I am. Thats just an example of a .22 kit. Anyway thats my take on it. I just think it limits the user, even though I love um'.

just like so much gear in the world, grunts use the stuff that politicians and so called gun experts decide we get to use. Every bad report ever written about the use of a bullpup will always be countered by some expert saying the grunt did somthing wrong or he does not know how to shoot..... That expert never has even used that piece of of gear himself in the field to make such evaluation or even a fair comparison.

After using a modified m16 223 bullpup, another AK version that came out over 15 years ago and the ruger conversion, I would have to say they work great for cops or for the best case scenario but for combat in the fields they are still shite. I have had brass burns from the hot shells going into my sleeves, but that is just me, and I have used the real guns not the airsoft guns. I even still own two bullpups right now, they almost never get shot any more.

GIVE ME BACK MY DAD's  M14 FROM VEIT NAM.
Even the seals have braught them back, and 2/7 from 29 palms had at least 4 snipers with those not barrets or the new springfield BULL PUP 308, reduced m14 variant.

And yes ALL OF US IN THE CORPS  were taught to shoot right handed.
Even the m16 will send hat gas and brass at you if you shoot it left handed. Not always but it will happen when you least like for it to happen, while shooting.

Bullpup or not small arms still work on the basic principle of the gas powered cycle. They can reconfigure all they want while here in the US we are inventing and developing new technology like:
