Hey Andy? Since I've never done a 3-gun before, what's the concept behind it? How does ut play out?

Only reason I'm asking is I didn't see any details on the Pima website.

Anybody got a pistol and shotty I can borrow?

Right here!!!

Hey Andy.  We're you still wanting to get together on the 30th to do some target shooting?

It might be an issue since they set up on that day for the three gun match.  I think you'd like the three gun a lot more.  Mixture of steel targets, paper, transitioning from one gun to the other on a course.

Let me know if you need a shotgun to use.

Thanks Busta, but I was aksing for more detail that what had already been provided.

Wonder if they'd let me use the SPAS.....

They sure would and you wouldn't be the only one there.  A guy I work with is using a full auto shotgun, there is a class 3 bonus match at the end.

Well, my SPAS isn't a C3, but I *can* wiggle my finger real fast... :)

Considering the pic Andy posted above, that might have not been the best thing to say.  ;)

Anybody up for coming out for Pima Pistol club's 3-Gun match on the 31st of this month.

Involves, pistol, shotgun, rifle.  They are usually a blast!!  I think its $15 to enter.

For more info.  http://www.pimapistol.org/

Basically the pistol is mostly steel (like we shot before) any paper shot is sometimes in a CQB area, doors, walls, etc.  The rifle falls into two categories, combat, and distance.  The combat is under 40yrds, multiple targets, FAST shooting.  Moving targets (twisters, swingers, etc).  The distance is 50yrds to 200yrds rapid fire.  Few finish under the max allowed time.  Shotgun is combat shotgun, fast with loads of reloads.  Transitioning guns is HARD, going from pistol to shotgun quickly isn't as easy as it seems.

So you have to carry all three weapons on you at once I assume?  Any type of rifle you specifically recommend?  I would think either my M1 Garand or SKS would be best.

Here's a web site that has pics from one of the 3 gun events in Tucson (not many pics, and you can't see the course's that well).

http://www.buybrownholsters.com/buy_brown_in_action.htm

Here's some pics of steel targets that we'll be shooting and what people typically wear (BDU's are okay, local lawenforcement always wear them)

So Andy.  Which would you recommend more, an SKS or an M1 Garand?  Is higher ammunition capacity prefered?

Bring both, use the Garand for the 200yrd (if they have it, never know the course set up until the day before.

Firepower is needed for the shoot and run portions (AR's, AK's, SKS's are perfect)
