Looking to get a GBBR any ideas
« on: January 06, 2015, 12:50:22 PM »
I've never owned a GBBR but they look very fun to play with. Also I'm a left handed shooter so I like ambi controls (standard M4's are right handed only). Check out the link below tell me if that gun is any good. Post questions comments or concerns. Thanks!

WE GBBRs are great platforms specifically if you're looking for something that can be tuned and upgraded and has excellent aftermarket support. However GBBRs are not for the faint of heart. They require upkeep and regular routine maintenance. If that sounds like something you're up for or have no problem with then go ahead and buy one.

I have a WE MSK and ill say that i like mine alot. However wait on a MSK if you really want one. PArts are very hard to find for it. Everything is very solid except the hammer. It has a very small contact point that interacts with the dis-connector and when it wears out the trigger wont reset properly and the safety fails to engage. Happens around 1000rnds through. Get a WE scar or a ghk g5 as both are ambi, can have the charging handles switched to a different side, and are very reliable. Also on a side note the black version of the MSK on evike is $249

The GHK G5 has served me really well for around 5k rounds now. I decided to buy one after handling one for just a moment, its the lightest most comfortable rifle I could have ever hoped for. People complain about the receiver cracking from the recoil, which by the way is more than you get from a .22lr, but its easily avoidable with some simple mods like gluing in a bit of sorbothane. Mag compatibility is a dream come true. I run the GHK mags, G&P pmags, and the G&P usgi 50 rounders.
