Stuck between G&P, KWA, G&G
« on: June 01, 2010, 08:18:58 AM »
normally i cannot stand threads like these, but i have come to a three way split and i am having a bit of difficulty with choosing which manufacturer to go through.

simply put, i am stuck between KWA, G&P, and G&G. i have used at least one model rifle from each manufacturer through my various experiences, and have been satisfied with the initial impressions i received from each.. i have also read too many reviews for the three different choices, it seems to be a toss up.

if i had to say which way i am leaning, i would probably say i am leaning towards the r4 commando,  then the g&p, then the km4. actually, the km4 and g&p are more of a tie.. I don't know :|

here is what i have narrowed it down to;

1. G&P M4 variant

same model with engraving; http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info ... s_id=32129

2. KWA KM4 RIS

3. G&G GR16 R4

commando

or, carbine

so there we go, what do you guys think?

i've seen that listing.. and i don't want a used rifle. especially one with that many modifications, and that many rounds put through it

i have owned/used a couple different weapon platforms, and the M4 is the next one on my list. of all the different systems i have played with i prefer G36 variants and M4's the most, i'll most likely be sticking with whichever rifle i decide to purchase so that is another reason why i want a new piece of equipment.

will you supply some reasons/personal experience as to why you would choose that rifle over the others?

or does it just look cool in videogames..  :/

I would choose it because..First it looks great lol, but I've used it before and it owns the field it has an awesome ROF and it's a very sturdy gun. All in all its a great gun to use and an awesome buy.

I've been doing some more searching, I'm thinking of putting the g&g and kwa before the g&p, but I still need some more input.

If you want a good reliable gun, for a decent price. G&G is the WAY TO GO. KWA is just as good but usually a hundred or so more, money you can use for more things for your new G&G. People talking about ROF be dammed, externally and internally the G&G is the best value, Out of all the guns i have owned 6 of them have been G&G. Get a G&G and a good lipo, these guns can handle it out of the box. from my personal experience G&G is BETTER and CHEAPER than KWA is almost every way. I recommend the G&G

i do not plan to use a lipo, a 9.6v NiMh will work fine for me. the rest of your points are good, and i have had the same good experiences with G&G

as for pricing, here is what i have found roughly.

r4 carbine: 360

r4 commando: 300-320

km4 ris: 340-365

so as far as price-range, the models i am looking at are quite similar as you can see..

i dont really see the justification in the ~$60 price difference between the r4 commando and the km4/r4 carbine, the carbine has a regular stock and the extra clip holder instead, right? performance wise, they look to be the same model.. as far as the KWA, well.. like you said, KWA is a bit more pricey

I have used both a KWA and G&G. The G&G with a lipo had a ROF on par with a KWA with a lipo. If your concerned about FPS, the KWA also shoots harder out of the box. The G&P is also amazing, from what i hear. So out of all the guns you mentioned, id get the KWA. My piston broke after about 4-5 months, but it was an easy fix.

As far as the LiPos go, i hate them. I might never buy another again and they break super easy. So just get a 10.8v crane stock battery, i think a few companies make them.

Just my $0.02 :)

Well if you are looking at those G&G models then yes you might as well get a KWA, but if you were to get one of their 200 something "sports-line" guns like on evike or a g4 from airsoft gi they are based off G&G and it leaves you money for other items or upgrades.

Those are the guns i was thinking of when i mentioned price, Again i would recommend G&G or G&P, but of course its your decision

As you said the diffrence between the r4 carbine and commando, that the clip is actually where the battery goes,I assume the second mag that the clip holds is the actual battery case. I haven't used G&G or KWA but when I had my G&P it work amazingly well, outrageous ROF without a lipo, decent stock fps at 360, and G&P are known for their superb externals. But their all high end companys that make great products so it's a tough choice but I put my vote on G&P first one too.

I personally like the KWA rifle because it tells you what is in the gun and you don't have to take it apart.

I do believe both other companies do likewise, but I have been doing alot of researching.. I'm almost 100% set on the KWA.

now I just need to make some decisions on the power supply >___>
