Airsoft Items FOR SALE / ACU Army Issue Plate Carrier
« on: February 17, 2010, 09:06:25 PM »
Plate Carrier not an IOTV or IBA,  naturally no plates since i turned those in leaving Afghanistan.  Pretty good condition since i cleaned the dust and 18 months of funk off of it.  No real need for it.  $100 bucks.  All Molle attachments still good,  Ammo pouches for M4 and a 6 Mag holder pouch included.  Also have a few surefires,  E2D Defender $50, and SureFire FASS suppressor for 308 conversion M4's (thats for a real rifle but could be used on an airsoft i guess) $1200.  ACH with MILPAS NOD mount and ballistic face shield mount $350.

If you're curious my truck was blown up and due to a casualty we all got issued new gear so none of this stuff was on my hand receipt when i cleared, now it just takes up space in the closet.

99/100 people can't do the airsoft sniping thing. Just remember that. It's boring, and sometimes completely crap cause some guy will lob some bb's from 100yds away and hit you through some brush..

On the flip side, if you invest a lot of time and money into a good weapon system you can have no problem reaching out to 100-120yds consistently.

Well I invested a small amount of time, and an okay amount of money and I can reach out to 100+ yds.  Now if i can just put it to good use.  Replacement springs and hop ups make a big diff,  now i'm thinking of upgrading to a tighter bore barrel.

Most organizers allow higher FPS limit for single shot rifles intended for use as a "sniper rifle".  A minimum egagement distance almost always applies.

I use the term sniper rifle loosely - its airsoft afterall.

I understand the loose interpretation....but good camo, use of terrain, patience, and use of training can make airsoft a good parallel,  until a few years ago i always thought of airsoft as a bunch of guys that wish they could've done actual combat or been in the military...but after the warrior transition program, its really more of a therapy for a lot us, including me.

Having a higher FPS does not make it a better gun.

The action is great, accurracy is amazing at 75yds I can hold a 4 inch grouping, and taking out soda cans at 100 yds is quite possible.

BS.  Prove it.

hey i never said it was possible in the first shot,  but its possible with a bit of windage.   last time i tried it it took bout 12 shots and that was in a warehouse so crosswind wasn't a factor.  but now i guess i'll have to make a video to prove the 4 soda can thing (empty soda cans BTW)

I have the MB04 same as the mb05 with out the adjustable buttstock.  It does have the adjustable cheek rest.  At its pretty powerful.  I can't speak for the L96 which was the rifle i was torn between as well.  But after dialing in the hop up and the scope i can't complain about the mb04.  I've fabricated a suppressor for mine, really for mor asthetic purposes than anything else and painted the stock and the barrel.   The action is great, accurracy is amazing at 75yds I can hold a 4 inch grouping, and taking out soda cans at 100 yds is quite possible.  I've seen some stuff on spring mods and tried them but once i do reassembly i can't get it to cock, so i've the spring alone and just done the hop up adjustments, Besides that was a pretty affordable buy for me.  My hearts set on a socom m82 someday however.  I haven't chrono'd it but i'm sure i'm up near 500fps, considering using .25g from 50 ft away it'll penetrate 4 soda cans.  IMO its a great rifle, and come's with everything you could want from a good scope to a great bipod.  Only issue i have is, like the L96 it has 2 allen screws that hold it to the stock and on initial assembly i could only get one of the two to engage.  but its still solid.

Any games here allow rifles above 450fps?  I understand some younger players might not have the pain threshold older players do, and some older players might not have the impulse control others do and get a little testy about a well placed contact shot, but most of the games i've seen pretty much out me since all of my rifles close to 500 fps.  Yes i like laying in wait for a shot to present itself, and engaging targets from as much stand off distance as possible,  are there any games that allow that style of engaging?

Hello Esteemed Members of the Board.

I'm Lee,  Just relocated here to Flagstaff.  Coming off active duty,  last station Fort Drum 1/22 Inf.  I'm veteran, and relocating to Flagstaff to work out at Camp Navajo.  Bought my first airsoft thru the net when i was in Iraq on my second tour for entertainment during off time.  I'm a trained sniper and would like to get into actually doing some games in a sniper role if possible.  Don't know of any crews here but would love to meet some people in my area.   I know Camp Navajo has been used for events in the past.  Any info or advice you guys can give would be great.

Lee

I'm new to the Flagstaff area, and actually a trained US Army Sniper.  I now work at Camp Navajo as target systems repairer.  I've done 3 tours, 2 in Iraq and 1 in Afghanistan.  I noticed before relocation to AZ that airsoft's big out here.  I have 2 Airsoft sniper rifles one I had to shipped to me on my last tour for me and my roommates shear off time entertainment, and the other I purchased before moving here.  I'm actually pretty interested in getting into doing some events but i see that they have FPS restrictions.   I haven't ever done any team competing with Airsoft but would love to,  i can't seem to really find any groups but I know the Camp I'm at has been utilized from time to time.  So any advice you guys got or info on groups near me would be great.
thanks

Lee
